[DraftExpress.com] Tyrus Thomas visits Houston http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1366 Looks like there might be some truth to the Portland rumors.
[DraftExpress.com] Portland-Houston trade for Tyrus Thomas? http://www.draftexpress.com/viewarticle.php?a=1366 Tyrus Thomas is Houston today for a interview and measurements. Portland and Houston are in discussions involving a trade in which both teams would swaping their lottery picks.
BTW, for those who doubt DraftExpress' credibility: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/sports/2003081457_webroy23.html Roy confirms Houston wanting to trade up.
I know the guy that runs draftexpress and i can honestly say he doesnt just write for the sake of writing, everything he writes hes heard from an agent or a source in the league so although they are still rumors, there is credibility to them. with that said, what would we be giving Portland? 8 and Head for 4? I dont see why they would do that, maybe Stro? but that seems too much, 8 and Stro for 4 and 31? 8 and 2007 1st for 4?? I think the last one is the most likely
Trust me, tune into Fox 26 tonight with Mark Berman at around 9:45. I am pretty sure he will having something on Tyrus Thomas visting the Rockets. Berman covers all the stories. He is all ways in the airport when a big time athlete comes to town.
If nothing else, it looks like the Rockets are being aggressive about getting a top prospect. I like it. Having Yao and T-mac gives you a little leeway with draftees potential. If we hit a homerun then it probably puts us over the top in terms of competing for a title. But even the downside of a solid starter would be a boost to our team. Course obviously a bust would be a gigantic setback not matter what we give up.
Beautiful!!!! Bargnani or Thomas out of this draft would be everything that I could hope for the Rockets. I have those two as 1A & 1B, in regards to this draft.
Maybe something like: #4 #30 or 31 for #8 2007 first rounder (top 3 protected, or possibly even top 1 protected) Luther Luther would match up with the late 1st/early 2nd, and be pretty good value for Portland, while the price to move up 4 spaces is a 2007 first rounder. I think that might be fair.
It might not be what we're giving them, but what we're taking off of their hands. They would kill to get rid of Darius and Zach, and would be happy to get out from under Theo's contract. Something like Juwan (or Swift), Head, and #8 for Miles and the #4 wouldn't be unreasonable.
He would probably be involved in the trade. What makes sense here guys? I guess we would have to take on Miles. btw, Rikesh.... My post 1 minute before yours It's cool though. You worded it better than I did.
If we can get the #4 pick without giving up Head or a future pick I will be very happy, no matter who we take in the top 6.
I know he sucks, I'm just willing to give him another chance. Maybe he can learn something from Tyrus.
How the heck do you think we're going to get the #4 without giving up Head or a future pick. Unless we're taking on Miles or Randolph's contract off their hands, which I'm kind of lukewarm about. It's probably not Randolph since we're looking to draft Thomas. If it's going to be anybody it would be Miles. I'd probably still do it (we'd come out ahead on the assets dept), but I still don't like the idea of Miles on our team. I don't like his game or his attitude.
I'll stick with roy he could help us big time... tyrus is an expensive imitation of stro I seen enough last season!
Obviously bringing in Thomas is a very solid indication that we are truly intent on moving to the top of this draft. It also indicates to me that Thomas' camp is not exactly sold that Tyrus will be selected by Chicago at #2.
