I hate to say it, but the Dallas Mavericks are so yesterday. There is no way on earth they are going to come back and win the title. Miami has the momentum. Dallas is demoralized. You cannot recover from losing 3 straight. You just can't. The sad part about it is that it's not the Mavs fault that they are so yesterday. The league and the refs are doing their very best to screw the Mavs and it looks like they are going to succeed. Face it, the Mavs are so yesterday.

And so is this thread.

I didn't know the Heat won it last year.

But either way, the Mavs are done.

there are so many moronic things about this post and very few of them actually have anything to do with the actual finals.

I thought the Mavs don't make "excuses" so why should fans make them for them.

I'm only going for Dallas because I can't stand Shaq and I don't want him to stick it to Kobe and the Lakers.

I think it's funny how both teams have been written off in the course of this series while the home team has won every game.

All I know is that I will be jumping up and down like crazy if Miami ends up winning the series. The only thing that would even come close to the Rockets winning the championship is Dallas falling short of doing just that.

I vote to keep the Mavericks a second-string franchise in Texas, the way it should be.

For a second there, I could have sworn that you had to win four games in the NBA finals to win the championship. In case you've forgotten, the Mavs are 10-1 at home in the playoffs.

I also seem to remember about 12 years ago another Pat Riley coached team that came back to Texas with a 3-2 series lead and that oh so precious "momentum"...I can't remember the exact name of the team that won, though...

As much as I want Miami to win, I dont think this series is over just yet.

Well, after Miami looked like crap the first two games... and considering the way Dallas had played on the road all playoffs... you couldn't help but wonder if the Mavs were just too good for the Heat.

I also don't think anybody should/is writing off the Mavs (even though I'll be terribly happy if they lose)... if you look at the three games in Miami, they absolutely should have won game 3, and game 5 was very winnable for them too.

When you combine those two facts with how they dominated the first two games... Dallas should still be the favorite. But, if they let the issues with the refs distract them, and they don't find a way to stop Dwayne Wade from getting to the basket each and every 4th quarter possesion (where he will score, or draw a foul, 9 out of 10 times)... the Heat could very well ride all of those factors to victory.

All I know is that Miami better look good in game 6 (even if they don't win it). If they get blown out, it will kill any sort of momentum they had, and will make it that much harder to win a game 7 (which is hard enough by itself, even if you have momentum).

I bet there was a thread at a New York Knicks site saying the same thing in '94. Except the Rockets came back from 2-3 to win the series.

Anything is possible...don't get me wrong, i hope Dallas loses. But this is far from over, there is one make-up game left, then game 7 will decide.

With all due respect, you care about Bryant and the Lakers... why??

I'm rooting for Miami because I'd love to see Dallas get beat, Dallas being Dallas (you have to be a Houston native to understand that logic), as well as seeing Cuban and the whining Dallas players, who follow his lead, get beat, and the fact that Shaq has always been a class act about giving Dream his props, and that goes a long way with me.

As my Dad would have said, I don't give a tinker's continental damn about the Lakers, especially Bryant.

I like Dallas's players as individuals and I like Avery Johnson and I find Cuban immensely entertaining.

I am not too fond of anyone on Miami's team save for Shaq (only b/c I hate the Lakers more) and Wade. I can't stand Zo, GP, White Chocolate, or Walker.

With all that said, I hope Miami kills them. I think that is because I just hate Dallas as a city, just effin hate them.

Yeah, I agree. It's impossible to recover from losing 3 straight. The last time it happened was a few weeks ago when Detroit did it after losing 3 to the Cavs. Before that? Another few weeks when the Suns won 3 straight after losing 3 straight to the Lakers. It just never happens. Series over.

I don't care for Kobe. I hope him and Shaq don't win a championship.
