Get there early and go clockwise.

Most people start right and circle left.

Don't you have to win some sort of championship before you can go to Disney World or is that just Disney Land?

    How long are you staying?

What are the age of the kids going?

If you can afford it, staying at a hotel serviced by the monorail is a real time saver.

Off-topic, but I need to finally get that laptop back, if you still have it. (you should) :p

Also, I have a friend who is having issues with his monitor. Can you fix that? He'll pay if you can.

Find out when Gay Pride is at DisneyWorld. If that kind of stuff doesn't bother you, then don't worry. If it does... then find out when it is and avoid it.

The reason I mention this is because someone I work with went with their family inadvertantly during that week and found it rather uncomfortable for them and their kids...

OH!! Ride Space Mountain, fo sho!

even if it doesn't bother you...avoid it...it's way too crowded.

Mine too. They have a special going on now where you can get multiday passes for the same price, plus kids under 10 are free. We're heading down to Universal in a couple of weeks. I'm popping for 3 days at the Hard Rock so we can freely use FastPass. Plus the wife won't want to hang with the kids and I all day so she can go back to the pool as there is a shuttle every 15 minutes. This might be the most expensive hotel I've every paid for but I really don't want to stand in line after line in FL in July.

How I wish I was young enough to enjoy Hulk and Dueling Dragons. I'm so old now that they'd just ruin my day. The strange thing is that I used to get sea sick but could ride any ride all day. Now I can get ride sick but don't get sea sick. Go figure.

    done

going in about a month for 4 days total(figger two days in the park(s))
just me, the wife and my 13 yr old girl

so far...I started looking at the Disney resorts(the value ones of course...why pay too much just for a place to sleep?) The reviews all claim the shuttle service to the parks is quick and leave often

    off-topic reply

    heh....about damn time. ;)

still gonna bring that other one that you ruined with the soda?

monitors arent my thing...I can look at his sytem and determine if the problem is the monitor or not...but if the monitor requires service, I'd recommend replacement if no longer under warranty

We figure that we will do one park per day...Universal was my vote for day two...any specific attractions that are must-sees?

dont particularly care, but obviously would like to avoid the *ultra-crowded* days.

keep em coming guys...I dont mind doing the research, but some real-life recommendations from you guys means a ton more than a bunch of random reviews on the intrawebs

Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!

My wife (the psychotic Disney fan) dragged me to Disneyworld 3 times in 4 years. Finally, I decided I had enough and forced her to go to Universal Studios. We've now been there twice in one year, and she actually prefers it to Disney. Although Universal is much smaller, everything is just... better. The hotels are nicer, the rides are cooler, the lines are shorter, the food is better, and our all-around costs are much less than Disney. Now, if the parks were only bigger, Universal would be perfect.

-You can eat breakfast with the Disney characters.

-Fast pass stations are great. You get a pass that'll let you skip the lines at a certain time.

-If you wanna try and visit everything they got in the park make sure your family is in shape. I'm the type of person that didn't want to stop moving so I could see everything I possible could, but then someone in the group would say "Let's take a break, my legs are tired." and ruin my plans with unnecessary stops.

^That's the same reason I never got to go to Universal Studios. We didn't go because some people were tired and wanted to go home.

Universal has much better thrill rides, although I do love Disney/MGM's Tower of Terror.

If you are doing 1 day at Universal, make sure that day is spent at Islands of Adventure.

Also, you can priceline some disney resorts and get a nice hotel for around $100 per day.

Yes! Islands of Adventure for the win!

I've been twice (once senior trip 4 years ago and once for this past spring break, absolutely loved it. Hands down my favorite theme park.
