E3 is fast approaching, and it seems like the floodgates are starting to open. A lot of new games have been announced, new info on currently known games has been released, and new media for some of these games have hit the net. I'll try to post most of that stuff here (mostly PS3, Wii, Xbox 360 stuff). I'll post some more later on I guess. If nothing else, be sure to check out various game sites for new info and media (IGN, Gamespot, Gametrailers, etc.). Edit: One thing I forgot that I'd like to mention is the release date and price tag for the DS Lite: http://ds.advancedmn.com/article.php?artid=3633 June 11th, $129.
There’s not anything new that I'm aware of. MS will probably release more info about it during E3, possibly on Tuesday when they have their conference.
Some more info that I didn't mention earlier (mostly E3 lineups) MotoGP (360) Hands-On (new screens) Info on Phantasy Star Universe (360, PS2, PC) Smackdown vs Raw '07 Teaser ("target render" ) Tony Hawk Project 8 (PS3, 360)(with screens) Supposedly an animation test from the game: http://youtube.com/watch?v=Wp0J-qZ3aqs Activision gets James Bond License Activision's Future Plans (5 PSP games, 4 360 games, 3 PS3 launch titles for this fiscal year, and 3 launch titles for the Wii) EA's E3 lineup(Madden 07 playable on PS3/Wii) THQ's E3 Lineup Ubisoft's E3 Lineup Namco's E3 Lineup Midway's E3 Lineup Sony's E3 Lineup for the PS2/PSP
You're the man RC.. I cant wait till Alone in the Dark 5 comes out.. seems like they are moving away from the adventure/puzzle style and trying to pull a Resident Evil 4 type of make over.. I'm also STOKED that there will be a Mercenaries 2 soon... I loved the first Mercenaries, I hope this is a great E3..
One last update before E3 begins... Bungie Preps for E3, expect a big "update" next week Call of Duty 3 announced, exclusive to next-gen consoles (no PC?) (trailer included, although it looks like a "target render" ) First Look at Madden 07 (new screens) Theseis (PS3,360,PC) playable at E3 Interview about Bioshock (PC, 360, maybe PS3) (new screens) BTW, this game is from the same guys who made the System Shock games. New Spore (PC) footage Pics of the almost-final PS3 devkits New screens for Crysis (PC) Sega announces The Club for PS3, 360 Developed by Bizarre Creations, who made PGR 3 and Geometry Wars. List of games to expect at E3, according to 1UP The latest 1UP podcast that mentions a few things about E3 They mention something about a "megaton" that will be announced at the end of Sony's press conference. It will make you think differently about the PS3, according to them. Rumors going around include WoW/Blizzard exclusive to the PS3, as well as some Wiimote-like features from the PS3 controller (or maybe the Eyetoy). As always, take with a grain of salt. Podcast that includes a 90-sec audio teaser from a new MGS4 trailer to be shown at E3 The link includes an English translation, which contains some interesting info if you are a MGS fan. I know PSM and a few other sources had some E3 related "news," but it seemed like BS to me, so I'm not going to bother posting it. They basically had every 3rd party 360 game being announced for the PS3 at E3. As I said, this will probably be the last update for this thread before E3 begins. Unless someone else wants to do it sooner, I'll probably start up an E3 thread tomorrow night or Monday morning with all the necessary info. Sony's press conference starts on Monday, so I'll probably post the times and links to any places for getting info from the event. I'll do the same for the Nintendo and Microsoft conferences as well, both of which take place on Tuesday.
Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, and a few other companies have their press conferences on Monday and Tuesday. The show itself starts on Wednesday.
I'm most excited about the PS3, although that's mostly because of games like MGS, FF, Gran Turismo, Heavenly Sword, etc. I'm also interested in the Wii and any secrets Nintendo may still have up its sleeve. The 360 probably has the least of my interest, but it is also the only console out right now. That said, games like Too Human, Gears of War, Shadowrun, Bioshock, etc., all look VERY good, and MS might have been able to keep some secrets from leaking out this year (new XBL features?). Oh, and then there's Halo. That might be a better question to ask next week, once the show is over.
BTW, I just read that the Wii is the size of three DVD cases stacked together. WOW. That is freaking small, the graphics must be bad. I'm still interested though if the remote controller thing lives up to its hype.
Size of console != Graphics quality That said, at this stage in video games, graphics really shouldn't make that much of a difference, they're going to be pretty marginal unless the game itself is badly designed.
