JJ and Rondo might jump into the top 10 spots after some private workouts..there is a possibility for us to pick one of them or be lucky and pick Roy, Bargnani or Carney...

    any thoughts?

I've seen a couple mocks that have Rondo moving up. I wouldn't be surprised to see him sneak into the top 10 given the lack of pure PGs in the draft. (Foye's a great player, but also a gunner.)

If we didn't have such glaring need for a shooter, I'd really love to pick up Rondo. He's got insane athleticism, tons of length, and non-stop tenacity. He could really be the answer for us when we go up against the quick PG's that always cause us so much trouble. He also rebounds like crazy for a 6'2" guy (6.1 rpg).

With that said, we'd be better off with a SG with size and some of those same qualities...and oh yeah, a jump shot.

Just say "NO" to J.J. Redick when it comes to our lottery pick. I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea and thinking I hate the guy. I actually really enjoyed watching him play at Duke and I list him as one of my heroes on my damn myspace page. But that doesn't change the fact that I think he'll be one-dimensional in every sense of the term when he gets to the NBA level. Yes, we need shooting and we need it bad, but bad enough to use that high of a pick on a player that has never proven that he can do ANYTHING else? No way in hell.

Any other year and I would love for the Rockets to draft him, even if he never develops a jumpshot. He just brings so many other things to the table. We wouldn't get beat by opposing PGs with him. His wingspan is like that of a 7 footer or something. I think that's why he can't shoot. He's been compared to Rod Strickland from his days at Oak Hill since that's the same school Rod went to and Rajon was breaking his assists records. I think that's exactly who he'll end up like and that ain't bad.

A big wing (ideally Roy or Gay not just any wing) is more important in the first round this year.

If we already had these guys in place:

    SG: Roy/Gay
    SF: T-Mac
    PF: Swift| Novak
    C: Yao

then we could afford to have a Rondo running the show and attacking the paint with ease. Too bad though.

Anybody moving up is a good thing for the Rockets. With that said, I do not want Rondo. We already have Alston and Head w/ Spanoullis coming over, we don't really need another undersized guard that can't shoot.

As far as JJ, it all really depends on who is available.

Rondo isn't an undersized point guard.
