Real GM speculated that Chicago may trade the unprotected #1 pick from the Knicks (obtained in the Curry trade) with Hinrich for J.O. I think that you don't give up J.O. within your division for Hinrich-Morrison(?) But I thought I'd ask if anyone else thought this was feasible.
The Pacers already have 3 PGs on the roster, all of whom are very capable- Tinsley, Jaravisichushfgshahas and Johnson...so why would they give up their only legit post scorer?
we got t-mac for steve francis so who knows what gm's are thinking. i sure as hell wouldn't trade o'neal for heinrich and a pick that isn't even guaranteed #1.
Sports Illustrated was the one who proposed it while discussing moves that could be made this summer. RealGM just reported about the SI article.
yep, linked to IndyStar-- this is not from the crappy Real GM team boards. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060217/SPORTS0403/602170483/1088/SPORTS04
sorry then. i thougt it originated from real gm. we all know that real gm could have yao ming being traded to the uzbekistan national team for a barrell of oil and a pack of chewing gum. anyway, about the trade. that would be one of the dumbest trades in recent history on the behalf of indiana. and it's not because hinrich can't play, because he is on the best PG's in the league and is SERIOUSLY overlooked and underrated. but indiana has good guards already. tinsley, jasekivicoiusviuocisistch, jones, and johnson and NO frontline presence other than o'neal. you don't trade one of the best PF's in the league for something you don't need.
I'd have to agree. Hinrich alone won't make a team a winner, there's no big reason to think Peja will stay past spring, and while the Knicks pick may be top three it's hard to believe Gay, Morrison, or Aldridge will be players of O'Neal's caliber. Cardinal Rule: Don't trade big for small. Evan
I'm not saying this trade is good or bad even if its true or not. But the trade doesnt make sense unless Indy wants to get rid JO before his sickness gets worse. They might be speculating that it might be something long-term. You might as well trade while the value is high. thats the only reason i can come up with why Indy would do this
i tend to agree. SOMETHING has to be up. teams should beware. because either indiana is just stupid or something is up.
If the magic wouldve kept cat and steve toghether with Howard they would have made the playoffs and would be in contention(behind detroit and miami)for the playoffs. It was not a bad trade then, considering Tmac has a crappy back.
I would think it would be possible if it was like stephen jackson and jasekevicous for hinrich and nocioni. that would make more sense. I don't think the trade will happen.
Indiana needs to pare payroll. Is Jermaine earning his $18 million? That sort of thing. Let me play devil's advocate: SI might be assuming that Larry Bird is trending white on his team (See also: The Coach, Stojakovic, Jarewhatshisface). True or not, I would think he should have other plans in mind if he trades the East's 1st or 2nd best power forward for a combo guard.
