During the UK/Kansas halftime report on espn, they reported breaking news that Texans sources are reporting that they will select Reggie Bush with the 1st pick if he enters the draft, regardless of what Vince Young decides...just a heads up.

Don't believe it, CC has been saying that all week but McNair will have the final decision. I think Bush still will be the pick even if VY comes out because the organization doesn't want to admit they made a mistake by taking Carr.

Yeah, I heard the same thing earlier today on NFL Countdown. Chris Mortenson said that the Texans fully intend to take Reggie Bush, and the only thing that would stop them is if Bush doesn't enter the draft. He also said that after the Rose Bowl most NFL teams still consider Leinart the top QB in the draft and he will more than likely be taken 2nd by New Orleans.

I hope Young decides to stay in school now, and tremble at the thought of what would happen if he went to Tennessee. Could you imagine if Young went on to greatness and we had to play him twice a year just to remind us of what we missed on. This orginization would be hated by fans for a long time.

I hope they pick that prick Leinart
He's had everything handed to him in life. That team is in the gutter and he's going to have to deal with it for a while

I love that scenario. It helps my two teams-- Titans then Texans.

Until the Saints move to LA... and he once again becomes the Prince of Southern California.

you mean it would hurt
like watching the quarterback we BEGGED management to play

like that kind of hurt
I remember folx begging the Oilers to play McNair
but nooooooo . . .we played CODY *****ING CARLSON
went 2-14 . .then strangely enough . . no one went to the games
they used that against us
to move the team
THEN they allow the best players to play
they d*mn near win a superbowl . . ..
OH YEA . . wanna relive that crap again
Rocket River
. .. yea. . i'm ridiculously bitter about that

Not to rain on your rant... but we only drafted McNair AFTER we played Cody Carlson, and went 2-14.
We played Chris Chandler ahead of McNair... and went 8-8.

Maybe this the Texan's way of trying to force Young to go back by leaking this to Mort. Their thinking may change if Young declares. It's seems so early to any that commitment.

I find it odd that they'd be so final on this decision now before they even announce who their next Head Coach is.
It will likely be his offense that we'll be incorporating and his choice of assistant coaches... he HAS to have some sort of preference in the type of players he'll be getting.

If Vince comes out and goes to Tenessee this franchise won't recover for a decade. I'm not saying they have to draft Young but they can't let the Titans get him.

I was listening to John Mcclain the day after the UT win and he really hit the nail on the head...whatever team takes Vince is going to have to restructure and build the whole team around him. The Texans really can't afford to do that at this point, no matter how great Vince could become.
Vince takes the vast majority of his snaps from the shotgun, something that will not happen in the NFL. It's going to take a at least 3 years IMO before any team he is on is a serious contender. The Texans have several of the right pieces (A.Johnson, DD, D.Robinson especially), and I honestly believe we can be back in the thick of the playoff hunt in 2007. David Carr is no Troy Aikman, but he has enough talent to QB a championship team. Let's get Bush in here and let him do his thing...

seriously...what does this mean? i have no idea who is saying this, specifically....but if this organization is making those sorts of decisions and making comments like these before even selecting a coach, then it's a crappier organization than i thought.

if the texans can't afford to do that, who can?? that doesn't mean you have to give up AJ..or even DD...you're gonna need a different OL with or without VY.
the texans are 2-12...who out there can better afford a major overhaul?? what do they have to lose??

Maybe the sources didn't mention that Kubiak is going to take the job?

If your argument is the Texans can't afford to start over then you're delusional. They're the worst team in the league, they have no choice but to start over, whomever they pick.

With Vince, youre gonna need a genius offensive coordinator. Vince is nowhere near capable of running an NFL offense right now. The whole offense created must evolve around the plays that he can do. It is quite the task. I'm not so sure if that's worth it. What happens when he gets injured? The system goes to waste.
