Not sure whether this is REALLY an interview by the Sporting News, as I could not find it from the Sporting News dotcom.

    But anyway, quite interesting interview.

Suggest changing thread title to pluralize "Player" somehow.."Players" or "Persons" or whatever. It's a little misleading...I came here wondering who in their right minds thought Yao Ming was the most powerful NBA Player

powerful means influential on and off the court. Yao is the most popular active NBA player right now, no doubt about that.

I find it interesting that Yao says he would "hide himself" if he had super-human powers. He must find it a challenge to be in the spotlight. Some famous people can disguise themselves a little and get out into public without a problem but because of Yao's stature, that's not possible for him.

Are you telling me you that you would recognize Yao with a Groucho Marx 'stache? Oh well, there goes his 7'6" Groucho routine.

My whole point in changing the thread title is not that I don't understand the potential meanings of "power"... the title implies that Yao is #1 on the list. "Most powerful...in Power 100". He is actually at #45 on that list
