I read in the Chronicle last week that the Rockets were thinking of cutting Dion Glover because he was injured and his contract was not guaranteed. With T-Mac and Bowen injured, I think the Rockets should pick up a extra wing player. I would sign Casey Jacobsen because we need some shooters and he can do that well. Another player I like is Theron Smith. He is 6-8 and he had a great preseason with the Nuggets. He reminds me of James Posey.

Anyone left at this point will not be a difference maker. Those are the facts. Missing TMac is obviously killing the team. Until the role players can step up and take an active part in improving the team, this team is going nowhere.

But let's not kid ourselves. Anyone available to sign at this point is either a has-been or a practice player.

Spree has the potential to be a difference maker.

The way I see it, If Spree was our starting SF these past three games, we would be 4-0 right now.

Also, signing Spree will allow the Rockets to rest Mcgrady and not rush him back. And If the back thing reoccurs things won't be as bleak as they seem right now.

well if that's the case having an injured unproven backup like glover, spree would a good difference maker.

I'd like to see him choking Wade ( in basketball context )

The only thing the rockets need is for Tmac to return. When that happens we'll be just fine. Go Rockets!!!

How good do some of you guys think Sprewell still is? He isn't much better than DA, if at all. He's 35 years old!

The only way we add a "difference making" player to the roster is a trade in which we give up a rotation player (or two) in return. Simple as that. Magic wands rarely work in the NBA. If we can pull off a Mike James type steal again at the trade deadline because a team is in a bind, great! But it's not likely and won't happen until much later in the season.

Well he's playing pretty much the same he has in prior seasons. Inefficient scorer w/ a low shooting percentage, questionable decision-making, and woefully inadequate on defense. The last one is what is really killing us. It would be nice if he could create his own shot and be an effective finisher in the paint, especially while Tmac is out. But I can live w/ his current offensive skills otherwise. His atrocious defense, however, cannot be overlooked. He is getting killed off the dribble routinely, falling asleep while his man launches uncontested J's right in front of him, and getting late on rotations especially in the 4th Q. I don't doubt that he probably means well.....I'm just not convinced in the least that his skills and talent justify a starting position on a team that hopes to go deep in the playoffs. I wouldn't mind him as a backup though.

And besides, including preseason it's been more like 7-8 games

The Rockets have a brand new back court from last year and it will take time to gel just like last year. Have some patience.
