Now that KJ signed a $10M 3 year contract, do you see him getting regular rotation minutes? $3.3M/yr isn't huge money, but it's not bench-warming money, either. The Rockets are pretty well-stocked at his natural positions (SG/SF) but the team can always get creative with either small-ball lineups with a wing playing PF or a no-PG lineup with a wing guarding the opposing PG. Poll coming up
He definitely should. Or Morey planning to trade him. I can see other teams being interested him easily.
He'll get minutes, injuries happen and as of now he is probably our best wing defender coming off the bench. Probably is behind Brewer on the depth chart, and if he can improve his 3% he will find PT on our team. He will be battling Thornton to be the second wing off the bench.
I think more than likely he is in the rotation or gone shortly after 12/15 or by the trade deadline. Could get some minutes behind Harden if Thornton doesn't work out.
I doubt it. They will develop him until a spot opens up via trade or injury. 148 minutes of wing play a game Beverley - 36 Harden - 36 Ariza - 36 Brewer - 30 Thornton - 20 Any overages probably due to small ball lineups.
Barring a trade or injury, he should spend the season in RGV with a shooting coach. Eliminate his flukey November hot streak last year, and he is like a 37% FG shooter, and a 24% 3 pt shooter. Sitting on the bench with the Rockets doesn't do anything to fix his shot.
well, the timing of the signing makes it appear like he didn't want any Summer League minutes. So, there's that.
I think he'll get some burn, because as of now, the roster feels fairly unbalanced with a lot of larger players, and I expect a trade. I think we will make some sort of move down the road, we'll just have to wait and see if it is anything or worth.
I really dont see bev with his injury history playing more then 28-30 min a night. I also think with kj brew and Thornton off the bench Ariza likely won't see 36 min a night either. Only player on the roster i see playing heavy minutes is harden and if we can limit him to 35-36 min a night that's a big improvemt from years past.
I think chances are minimal for the Rockets to pay a player $3.5M/year and stash him in the minor league. It is time to see if this guy can help us.
rather than employing a rigid rotation every night, i wish mchale would make situational substitutions from the bench based on matchups, determining the minutes of brewer, thornton, and KJ from game to game
