This thread is garbage. This is Mallett's second game. We don't have an established QB. Chill.

Why are some people surprised that career-backup-Ryan Mallett isn't good?

One really good game, one really bad game.

God people are so reactionary, it really gets on my nerves.

The sad thing is the upcoming draft looks awful for QB's outside of Mariota. Just got to hope that Mallet turns into something.

well their were a few times he had plenty of time and he still kept throwing too high or behind wide open receivers. happened all game long and had nothing to with the run game being weak.

I'm thinking most people feel the franchise QB is still not on the roster. It was worth giving Mallet a try because continuing to play Fitz was a waste of time. Got to see what we have in Mallet. He definitely stunk today no doubt. Playing time is the only way you can get better though. We'll see what he can bring the rest of the way.

at some point you have to step back and just enjoy how emotional everyone gets.. mallet had a decent game last week and people were talking about contract extensions.. bad game and hes garbage/career backup.. just let him finish the season out, his first game showed enough that he deserves a chance, he took an ugly step back today.. some bad teams coming up that maybe can help him build some confidence. want to see how he responds, the indy game and baltimore game should tell us more.. you guys get so down because youre expectations are unrealistic.. some of you were talking about winning out and grabbing a playoff spot. were clealy not better than the colts. you folks want instant satisfaction, its ridiculous..

who cares, this franchise has only been committed to 2 qbs, carr and schaub.. dont care about all the backups like rosenfels/leinart/yates that stepped in for injured starters and stop gap qbs like fitz..

He reminded me of Gabbert today. So many inaccurate passes and so many bad passes that should've been easy 5-10 yard gains...just horrible touches on them. It's hard to believe someone that's been a QB pretty much his whole life and 3 years in the NFL that looks this bad, but will somehow improve with even more experience than he already has...who knows. I have feeling we'll still be drafting a QB when this seasons over.

Seems like a small sample size. I'll need to see him for one more game before I decide if he's garbage or not.
