if it ends in fegan being decertified, any punishment dished out to the rockets is worth it

Lin has always been pretty low key and classy. His fans were a different story, but to say that he was trash is not correct. Parsons is not trash either, just had a huge ego and later on, he couldn't stop talking. Besides, ALL NBA players think they are better than they really are.

Be careful what you wish for, this is pretty much how Kevin McHale ran the T-Wolves into the ground. It'll be interesting to see if there's any reaction from Silver.

FWIW, the Wolves got the hammer because there was an actual WRITTEN AGREEMENT with Joe Smith that the league uncovered.

As great as Clutch's story is, it is just a couple of references to "sources" and then a bunch of circumstantial evidence.

In other words: Not enough to convict.

Parsons would look weird in blue jersey. He looked more cooler in red jersey.

You're probably right. I wouldn't be surprised if Clutch's sources were also just speculating, it's sort of hard to imagine "multiple" Rockets insiders being dumb enough to leak a story like that. This seems like the sort of leak that'd get you fired.

Just takes one. He is very right about the story. I was told this months ago, but I promised not to tell.

Ask Dave2000, told him about it a while back.

    This happened.

Can you explain how it happened though? Was Dwight in on it or not? He wanted Chandler to get paid early too?

Fegan was working to convince Dwight to stay in La or go to Dallas. He kept telling Cuban he was trying his best. Fegan basically gave up and asked Morey if he stopped fighting Dwight about it if he would do this for him and CP.

Pretty weak by fegan if all it took to tell one of his biggest FA's to go somewhere was to just hire his past training coach and release one of his clients into FA a year earlier.

Seems like their must be somthing else

So Cuban's reward for being Fegan's BFF was missing out on Dwight AND having to Parsons Max money? No wonder he's so pissed off at Morey.

Honestly, Daryl seems from reports, a little unhinged during free agency (like the call to Cuban about Dirk), that he was willing to agree to something he didn't have to.

I would pay a ton of money to read about all this 20 years from now (from Morey's AND Cuban's perspective)

Great read as always Clutch. TBH though it might be a blessing in disguise, Parsons was an amazing locker room guy but as a 3rd option just like Jeremy Lin he was a bad fit on the team, you really wanted a Shane Battier 3-and-D guy instead of a do-it-all no D SF if you already had Harden as the SG. We got an amazing bargain there was no way Parsons would get just 7M a year.

Well to be honest I don't really care, backroom deals like this get done all the time and as VoA said this is one of the "mild" ones. Give Dwight's brother a chance at a SL league team (man that must suck your bro is a superstar and you can't even make the end of the bench), release Parsons and hire Dwight's trainer (who produced results with Dwight), these are all reasonable deals when you compare it to Melo demanding to get the full contract and waste all of NYC's assets or LBJ demanding that the Cavs trade for Love (and lose Wiggins in the process). IIRC one of the reasons Gilbert felt so betrayed was because LBJ asked so much from him, he was able to party all night, sign everyone to his 4 horsemen agency and then his homies were given various jobs in the organization. Compared to all that this is nothing.

Thanks...so basically Morey didn't want to risk Dwight changing his mind, if Fegan kept insisting he should pick Dallas or LA.

Do you know when Dwight found out and how he took the news?

You all think we would keep Josh Powell as maybe a favor to Dwight Howard?

If there's no other big to sign, of course

Ha ... serves him right. So he really just planned on sticking CP's oversized contract on us? Morey and Les are really smarter than he is. His only advantage over us is Rick Carlisle.
