Damn, I was hoping to watch the first couple minutes and be able to dismiss this, but dem nostalgia feels won. I'll have to save it for later when I have the time to watch the whole thing.
I haven't played SFII in over 10 years. I remember cutting class and spending a lot of quarters on it.
Join the club. There's too many versions now my favorites are sf2hd remix on xbox, sf2 hyper fighting.
I liked near the beginning when they kept showing the box shots of all the games, and Capcom vs SNK 2 was featured front-and-center several times. Criminal that they haven't released an online version of that. Best fighting game ever, in my opinion.
the first street fighter where you play only as ryu, i never played that. im 30, my first encounter with street fighter was street fighter 2. at the arcade then on snes. still remember the code, DOWN R UP L Y B.
I used to be untouchable with Sagat all the way up to SFA2. Then the Marvel?SF games came out and I lost my way. Tried to jump into SF4 and I was completely out of my element. Parrying? - I wish I was good at it... I'll probably never be as good as I used to be. I feel sad now.
Same, I tried playing SF4 I couldn't understand all these combos and super combos. Stopped playing after SF2 Turbo.
There were SIX buttons (are there, still on the current ones?) on the arcade versions. There was one "turbo" button on the non-popular turbo version where you could speed up or slow down the action. I never liked that. I remember my brother was good at beating the entire Street Fighter original game. I never was. I liked playing with E. Honda mostly on SFII. I liked the fact that I was FAST-punching and still moving forward, and knew all the flying and combination flipping moves.
I got pretty good with Ryu, although I was never able to master the dragon punch as consistently as I would have liked.
It's kind of funny that when people think of street fighter they think of street fighter 2. Is there any other series like that?
they made 2 things cause for people who couldn't figure out how to get out of certain patterns. aka tick throw parrying - hated this , the tapping made the game less fluid, plus ALPHA COUNTERS were great, it was a fluid motion pressing 2 buttons to throw - cause suckers don't know how to reverse a throw or see one coming or considered it 'cheating' then they just put in too many characters
