I think we may have our next great HBO show. The series will premiere in January 2014 and consist of eight episodes.

What is that now? Three HBO shows set in Louisiana?

I don't think McConaughey has the patience for television, especially if it doesn't get good feedback early on and he's still getting decent film opportunities. Also hope their ask wasn't so high that HBO will be looking for Emmy nods or DVD sales to justify the cost.

Cary Fukunaga directed every episode. He directed films Sin Nombre and Jane Eyre which were both pretty good.

Yes, good eye; not a whole mess of people saw that second one, though. I think I saw some lady ordering beignets from Dan Conner even though her daughter wasn't hungry, and just moved on.

Whew what a cast, this looks really interesting. Will be watching this.

Daddario taking her top off was icing on the cake.

From what I have read, the show will feature a different set of detectives each season.

The most original ideas nowadays come from reality television. You wanna see that **** on 200 channels, 35 hours a week for the next ten years?

I don't know if it's a coindicence, but the state of Louisiana gives pretty nice tax incentives to film there.

More than a few movies film some scenes in that state (no matter where their story is based; guess their location scouts have their work cut out fot them) so as to cut costs.
