There's an Xbox One thread so why not have a PS4 thread.

Just a little bit about the system:

    -$399
    -CAN play used games
-Online Multiplayer is no longer free and requires PlayStation Plus

Potentially. PS3/PS2/PS1 games won't work on the PS4. They have something called 'gaikai' which is basically like netflix, where you can stream games to your PS4. It won't be available until sometime in 2014 but you will be able to play PS3 games through that, and potentially PS1&PS2 games.

The only stupid part about it is that you'd have to re-purchase your game on gaikai just to be able to play it...even if you have the ps3 disc in handy.

I cannot afford a PlayStation 4, so I think I am going to go create a thread to discuss income inequality in America. Please join me.

They'll likely be the same. Both will support 64 players online. BF4 seems like BF3.5 to me though, so I'm not getting it.

Can play used games - IF - the publishers let them.

Publishers are the ones killing the used market - just watch.

no r****d they said they will allow used games nevertheless. they came out with a statement saying that most publishers have agreed on sonys used game stance.

Consumer friendly, developer friendly, more powerful, cheaper, and has some of the best developers in the world. PS4 FTW!

Don't act like developers don't have a stake in this too. Publishers profits directly correlate with developer profits.
Make the games cheaper to start with.

Looking forward to seeing more exclusives come out for Sony...specially since I generally like them over MS's exclusives.

As a side note, it's possible to play used games on the XBone, so the OP's 2nd statement doesnt make sense.

This, without the calling you a r****d part.

Yeah, I want to see more Sony exclusives as well. The currently announced exclusives don't seem that great to me personally.

And the Xbox One doesn't play used games. Where did you read that it could?

To clarify, you can only play a used game from a retailer that has some sort of a contract with Microsoft. But as far as buying / selling your used games via ebay/craigslist/etc, then no, it's not possible with the xone.

We had zero intention of buying either new console within the next couple of years, but there is now a good chance we get a PS4 for Christmas.

Sony has ensured the PS4 will get off to a roaring start. Good for them.

I have a 360 but I think I will get a PS4 sometime in the next few years. I buy almost all my games used so the Xbone is out of the question for me...

Right, but you can still play used games...just wanted to clarify that there is a difference in the scenarios. You may not be able to buy or sell on Ebay, but you can still buy used games from Gamestop and you can still play used games.
