He is definitely a top 10 pg. Maybe a top 5. He is 6th in PER for pgs. He also seems to hit some big time shots down the stretch.

Can he be a super star? I don't see it, but I wouldn't be surprised.

Chauncey Billups 2.0 in my opinion. Plays very under control and at this point of the season is the most clutch player in the nba.

    http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2013/12...ard-clutch-game-winner-portland-trail-blazers

    Player Points FGM FGA FG%
    Damian Lillard 55 15 30 50%
    Kyrie Irving 50 15 43 34.9%
    James Harden 48 9 26 34.6%
    Arron Afflalo 47 13 32 40.6%
    Eric Bledsoe 46 14 32 43.8%

While Irving, Harden, Afflalo and Bledsoe are all within 10 points of Lillard, he's shooting a much better percentage than each player. Lillard is delivering knockout blows down the stretch to keep his team ahead, but let's crank this down to find shots when the game is on the line -- the last 30 seconds of one-possession games, according to NBA.com:

    Player Points FGM FGA FG%
    Damian Lillard 14 4 5 80%
    Russell Westbrook 11 3 3 100%
    Arron Afflalo 9 2 5 40%
    Jrue Holiday 9 3 4 75%
    Michael Carter-Williams 8 2 4 50%

Who was arguing with me last year that Kyrie was better than Damian?

He definitely has "it" and single-handedly brought his team back to almost win the game.

He will be the top PG in the league within a year or two.

Damian "Baby Ice" Lillard...the kid's got a very calm clutch demeanor. And him jumper is effortless.

    Lillard is pretty good.

Although he is a lot more developed than most other rookies when he came in the league. He is only a year younger than Harden, and is older than Irving by 2 years.

He is very calm under pressure, and the thing that makes him super dangerous is that he can catch and shoot, dribble and shoot, drive to the basket and pass. This is very rare ability. He shoots 3s and mid-range jumpers well. He's good in all areas and don't seem to have a glaring weakness. What is his biggest weakness? Anyone? He's not fancy with his dribbling, etc. for sure, but he's very good fundamentally sound PG. I would put him top 7.

He's not a good finisher in the lane. His jumpers are absolute money though. Not sure about his D.

The Jet seems to approve of Lillard as well, I don't know if he'll be a superstar but I think he already has a really good feel for the game. He already operates within a team framework which is something that seems to be rare these days with elite PG's.

He was rookie of the year.
There is a great chance that he will be a superstar.

isiah thomas went 22-8-7 on lillard, including 10-12 on FT's, and getting 5 fouls on lillard. he is still pretty much a one-way player at this point, but obviously very gifted offensively.

    He is not Billups 2.0.

Kid can ball, has a very high BBIQ for his age. Will be the top PG when the CP3 era is over.

Whoa, don't be so proud of yourself. Kyrie is a stud so whoever told you that wasn't wrong, especially not a year ago. They are both good, so what?

Kyrie is Kyrie. Overinflated stats on a bad team.

Damian is actually winning and could have started winning in his rookie season if the Blazers bench wasn't so terrible.

If I were starting a team and had to choose between the two as my PG I'd choose Damian over Kyrie.
