The never option seems to be a safe bet. Morey was the guy responsible for letting Dragic go in the first place because he didn't want the player option, do you really think Morey will change his mind so quickly on that now? Especially when our team is doing as well as it is now?
I think this is the best thread for this question. Can any one of you awesome people help me find the ortg for the Rockets while Dwight has been in the line up this season? It is very well known that a team that is in both the top 10 in defense and offense has a good chance to go far in the playoffs. Well, right now I think it's clear as day that out of the top 8 teams in the West the Rockets are the worst offensively despite having Harden. Right now, the Rockets are sitting at 20 on ortg and that's just unforgivable. Although I do believe they would be higher if Dwight hadn't missed so many games. Can someone confirm this for me?
If he thinks the team needs him, I believe he will try to convince Les to agree to a possible trade. Les allegedly wanted Lin instead of Dragic. Morey it is said, wanted to retain him. This information was written in an old thread. I don't know how to access it, perhaps someone else can look it up if you are interested.
It won't happen, bro. Sorry, I don't make predictions very often but when I do they're always right. Dragic will not be a Rocket.
No need to say sorry. I never said he will be a Rocket either. It will be up to the management to decide which direction, they wish to go. We all want the same thing as you do. Another NBA championship.
And we can get that championship just fine with Bev and Canaan at the point. No need to bring in another PG at the cost of more players and flexibility. Rockets won two ships with Kenny Smith at PG. Lakers won 5 with Derek Fisher. Heat won 3 without a great PG. You don't need a great PG to win the title, you need a solid team.
I am intrigued by Shved's addition. I believe he can help us out at the 1 spot, with some play making which we lack at the present time.
I don't make predictions very often, but when I do they're always right? Bro....Bro....Bro... Just stop.
My thoughts- The Rockets definitely immediately get an upgrade with depth and also their offense will get a shot in the arm for 10 minutes a game when Brewer runs the court the way he does, and they won't suffer too much defensively and from a shooting perspective. Shved will push Canaan, and Johnson to keep minutes in the rotation. He can play. However the big win now is the fact that the Rockets now legitimately have the ability to trade for a true superstar player on a max contract. That didn't really exist a few days ago when the Rockets only real true expiring contracts where Terry and Paps. Now the Rockets can pounce on a Bosh, Melo, or someone else if they are available in February. If not, they at least are a little deeper, and a little more versatile. As a trade package the Rockets now have the following: -Pelicans pick- -2017 first round pick of their own -18 million in expiring contracts (assuming brewer opts out) -D-Mo or Jones (if the Rockets make either available) -young talent in Johnson, Capela, and Canaan I doubt the Rockets even have to give up half of that in most deals but at least we know the Rockets are setup nice now to acquire a TRUE 3rd star. Not some half a$&ed star like Ricky Rubio or Ilyasova.
Would a possible brandan wright trade ruin our flexibility?I read somewhere he might not stay in Boston
Watched some Shved game highlights. This guy is crafty and can make some plays. Kind of reminds me of a very poor man's Goran Dragic, or the Goran Dragic before was traded to Houston (the first time ) Can hit the three, finishes on the break and above average height for a PG. Who knows how much playing time he will get but he is a very interesting prospect.
His shooting form is very good, which is why it's strange that he's never shot over 30% from 3 in his career.
Yes because his salary cannot be combined with other players now this year. Maybe it's doesn't kill it, but it doesn't help it. It does upgrade the backup 5 spot this year though. If Morey was to deal for him, I don't think it means no trades in February, but you can rule out the likes of a Melo or Bosh for sure.
