It occurred to me recently that many posters here on CF are both anti-Morey and anti-McHale, which is beyond stupid. You can't have it both ways. With the team currently owning the 4th-best record in the league, despite all our injury problems, only one of the following can be true: MilkHair is an idiot who doesn't call plays, doesn't make in-game adjustments, doesn't play matchups and generally doesn't know that the hell he's doing. The only reason the team is playing well is because Morey has provided him with enough talent to overcome his shortcomings as a coach. -OR- Maori is so blinded by analytics and asset-flipping that he's missing opportunities to make the team better. He trades away promising young players who always blow up for their new team. He has no real basketball knowledge and chases superstars when he should be developing the talent we have. The only reason the team is playing well is because McHale has somehow managed to get whatever players he has to play well and give solid effort most nights. My guess is that the anti-McHale/anti-Morey crowd will respond by saying that Harden has been such a force that it's overcome Milkhair's putrid coaching and Morie's lack of basketball knowledge. Harden's been amazing, but you can't give him ALL the credit. P.S. And if there are any anti-Morey/anti-McHale/anti-Harden people reading this, go join a Knicks forum, where you belong.
You might as well add Les to that too Les and Morey and McHale are all the same person and together they screwed Dragic so hard that he no want us
They "screwed" him by not giving a fourth year? Anyone that's been paying attention knows Dragic's history with the franchise had nothing to do with his decision. He wants the ball in his hand to play pure PG. He was worried about resigning here because he thought he'd be back to standing in the corner waiting to shoot threes as he was in Phoenix. That's not a bad reflection on Morey, McHale, or Les. In fact, as someone joked above, if you want to blame someone for Dragic not coming here blame Harden. Or, more specifically, blame his greatness.
So a GM who's good at finding cheap talent, combined with a failure of a coach, gets us the fourth best record in the league despite 82 games missed so far by our starters due to injury? Really??
I mean, you're talking to a group of people who are literally on record as saying things like "Dwight screwed our transition defense up in the playoffs last year because he played so good on offense" and "Morey should be fired because didn't get Mo Williams!" I think a question like "paper or plastic?" is probably too complex for them, let alone what you asked in the OP.
Do you mean to tell me that you are not impressed with his 8pt in 41 mins effort against a team thats 21 games under .500?
The beauty of bashing non-players is that there is literally something to complain about for everything. Rockets lose big -> Why did McFail fail to get the team ready to play Rockets lose close -> Why did McFail fail to make random decision X that even I as a fan knew to do and know that it would've gotten us the win Rockets win close -> Players overcame McFail, would've won by more if only he was a better coach Rockets win big -> It's just one game. Remember the playoffs? Should've played Harden 28 minutes instead of 32 minutes. DMo sucking -> McFail can't even teach post moves DMo beasting -> McFail didn't realize like fans that he should've played DMo a year ago Harden no playing defense -> McFail can't get his players to work hard on D Harden playing defense -> McFail only winning because Harden good Similar with Morey Make a bold move -> Succumbed to pressure. Gave up way too much. Are you telling me we lost a lottery pick AND Jeremy Lamb to marginally upgrade from Kevin Martin to this 6th man who just failed in the playoffs? Make a small move -> Morey lacks the guts to make a big move. Who is this Kyle Lowry guy anyway? And we got Dragic and a 1st for Brooks? Well, Morey once again shuffling the deck when other teams are making moves. Make no move -> Well, should've gone all-in I swear even if the Rockets win the championship this year, the fans reasoning would be, "Morey just lucky OKC's owner's cheap and McFail's just lucky Harden's MVP."
