Which Team is the Best NBA Championship Team this Millennium?
    and
Which Team is the Worst NBA Championship Team this Millennium?

I don't think either of these teams playing in the Championship this year are in the running
I seriously doubt that Golden State or Cleveland could beat last year's heat much less the Spurs

What the heck is this formatting?

Best would be one of the Lakers teams, I think.

Worst (because we have to choose one) would probably be the Mavericks team. Dirk was freakin' ridiculous, but I don't think that team can beat any of the other teams on this list.

Worst Heat 12-13, Ray Allen miracle shot saved them from the Spurs with the same core from 10 years ago only everyone had way passed their prime.

    Best 1 of the Lakers

    Wish I could edit.

*one of the early 00s Lakers teams. Frobe and Shaq, not Kobe and Gasol.

The real answer is the 1993-1994 Houston Rockets. They are the best NBA Champion within the past 1000 years.

04 Spurs. Damn good series and one of the best defensive teams that beat another great defensive team.

Last year's Spurs imo, best team I've ever watched, everything was in perfect sync.

13-14 Spurs team. So many players played exceptionally well that year. Like half their team was above 15 PER for the season. GSW stats may show the same if they win. Worst Team was the 2011 Mavs team

Ray Allen hitting a corner 3 isn't exactly a miracle

The definition of the PER formula sets 15 as league average. So if half the team was above, and half below.... :)

For me, it would be the 2000-2001 Lakers team, only lost one that entire postseason (15-1), and that 1 loss (NBA Finals, Game 1 vs PHI) went to overtime. To me, they were rusty after being off for 10 days.

Closest team this millennium was last season's Spurs team, if it wasn't for 4 straight missed FTs in Game 2, they would have swept Miami. Talk about Ultimate Revenge.

Yep, which is astounding. Most teams might have 4-5 guys who are above average PER, some of these championship teams had 3 guys above average. The fact that 7 spurs players were above average meant almost their entire rotation was above league average.

Those MAVs versus either of these teams [Cavs/Warriors] would be an interesting game

    Great thread.

At first glance I'd select one of the Shaq-Kobe Lakers and then maybe last year's Spurs.

Talking about the '04-05 spurs that beat Detroit. One of the best teams that could beat any squad since then. Could easily beat Lakers. People always put the early Lakers team as a top but Shaq would not be the all star we was. He would get popped for offensive fouls left and right.
