Good for Uncle Bob. He's a beast at dropping cancer as evidenced by how quickly he got rid of Ed Reed.

Probably explains why he didnt pull the trigger on a lot of these firing earlier. And why he chose to hang on to rick smith.

I imagine that when you are battling against life....stuff like football seems so miniscule and you start looking at people in a more humane way.

Probably was a huge bummer for him to have to fire kubes. But he knew he HAD to.

I didn't think CLL was curable. Hope they found something to cure it.

Good for what seems like a good guy.

Is 77 the age at which we're supposed to start wearing those pinstripe suits that look like they're from the 60's?

Oh the people you see, heard about, and find that got cancer treatment at where you worked at. It sucks what they have to go through (private entrance, aliases, etc.) just to get treated for something that can kill them.

I've read and re-read this post 14 times, and I still have no idea what you're trying to say.

Good for Bob to overcome this. To fight through that kind of stuff at the age of 77 is no joke.

Sorry. The first part was referring to my time at a former employer and how I would see a lot of public figures (athletes, professional singers, their spouses, etc.) coming in for cancer treatment. The second part referred to the trouble they had to go through to get said treatment just because they are public figures.

I'm happy for McNair that he's healthier now.

Now that he's healthy McNair is letting us know why the Texans didn't draft Manziel -

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...owner-says-johnny-manziel-was-not-fit-offense

"Long term, we had questions as to how well he'd fit in our system doing what we wanted to do," McNair said. "At the end of the day, you've gotta do what you think is best for the team. If you do what's best for the team and the team succeeds as a result of it, the fans are going to forget those other things."

Also that Texans would be willing to franchise Watt -

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11326919/houston-texans-open-putting-franchise-tag-jj-watt

"You've got guys in the Hall of Fame that have been franchised in back-to-back years," McNair told ESPN.com. "The franchise tag is worth something to the team, and you can't be afraid to use it."

They have to go through trouble or they choose to? McNair could just as easily have came out and said I have cancer and gone through the front door. He's not running a Fortune 500 company whose stock price may tank because he is going through treatment. The players will continue to play and coaches will continue to coach.

It's great that Bob has the wealth to afford such effective and personalized treatment. If he hasn't already, he should create a trust to provide such cancer treatments to others who aren't wealthy.

If you're a patient that has to go through radiation and chemotherapy the last thing you want to waste energy on are onlookers and people coming up to you wanting to strike a conversation or get an autograph a picture etc.
