You two need to learn to be literal. It's an underrated quality. Now keep an eye on this thread.

We will see....it's easy to be optimistic in July. I'm sure majority of teams in the league are excited; funny thing is when we hired MDA we all thought it would be a train wreck, now everyone seems to be excited.

The most leadership I've ever heard out of Harden, all in one paragraph! Scored some major points with me here. And I like that it isn't a jab at Durant, but it is a refreshing idea... build something yourself.

Name all the players who can be a force on both sides of the court game in, game out. I'll spot you Lebron. He's not ducking accountability entirely, although the relief speaks loudly even through text. He knows, he says it's going to be better....what do you want? Harden to dog himself like everyone else does?

Who besides the best baller on the planet?

many people make this argument in defense of Harden but nobody is criticizing him because he isn't a great player on both sides of the floor. They criticize him because he literally gives up plays, he lets the opponent score for free.

Everybody makes mistakes. Let's hope Harden learns from his and becomes a better leader with new team mates.

What stands out to me is that in every interview I've seen of Harden this summer regarding the new state of the Rockets, he makes a point to highlight and emphasis the hiring of Jeff Bzdelik along with D'Antoni.

You rarely see star players speak so frequently about the role of an associate coach. Apparently bringing in Bzdelik was pretty important to Harden and I think that speaks volumes.

I just don't see what a defensive coach is going to bring that's so new. It isn't rocket science. The main problem last year wasn't scheme but effort

Scheme contributed greatly. Our basic set was/is 2 guys in the corners, 1 wing, and then a pick and roll with Harden and the big going to the rim. That leaves one guy back to defend any runouts. And we got absolutely torched in transition. That is directly related to scheme.

I was referring to defensive scheme.

But yes we got torched in transition. One reason we got torched in transition is live ball turnovers and too many bad shots that led to easy fast breaks.

There was no defensive scheme last season unless you count "play harder" as an actual scheme.

I think we are going to see a really really memorable season from James Harden folks. Be prepared. He's going to be special. He seems to be happy and enjoying his basketball since Dwight left, D'Antoni was hired, and Anderson and Gordon got got. Having a leader that is optimistic is very important. Just hoping that Anderson and Gordon can stay healthy. I think we're in for a rapid improvement.

Relish is in the title, but not in the bottom line. You literally lose at being literal.
