That 59th game is the same week as the trade deadline. Pretty clever on the part of the Lakers, Morey had to keep Pap for a full season before unloading him.
It actually might be genius to get Yi. Maybe he can hook up one of the Kardashians and they can be the most talentless couple in Hollywood.
haven't watched a lot Chinese Basketball, but from what i remember, Yi is a good enough player to help the lakers, definitely worth the risk, good move by the lakers
3 pts in 2 preseason games. Lakers aren't giving him enough burn but from what I've seen of him so far he's going back to China when the season starts.
mods, please merge this with the malik badiane thread. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/malick-badiane-waived.155337/
saw a rerun of the lakers vs blazers preseason. what i noticed was yi's defensive prowess under the rim, which was very clear. he has the ability to change shots, in that all shots that weren't meant to go in miraculously find their way into the basket.
Yi didn't play at all yesterday. Looks like the Lakers will have 3 open spots to make a 15 man roster. Does Yi beat out these guys for one of those 3 spots? Looks like even if Yi makes the squad, doesn't appear Luke has a big role planned for the guy other than garbage minutes. I watched the preseason game between the Lakers vs Blazers and I can tell you that Yi Jianlian still sucks.
