mar1juana? That's have an affect on safety and health. Make sense that's never allowed unless it's for legitimate medical need.

Hair? That's mostly judgmental from from personal experience, society, religious and/or cultural background, etcs. In some cases it could be restricted for safety (long hair in a machine lab for example). But overall, I don't see a good reason to restrict hair style in public school.

Peyote use is permissible under some Native Americans' sincerely held religious beliefs. Why would mar1juana not be allowed for Rastafarians?

It's probably because ganja is smoked by rastefarians as a spiritual purifier. Although most do this, it is not mandatory unlike other religious traditions.

Because to me, personal or religious freedom is fine and dandy until it crosses the line of causing harm to others.

Know nothing about Peyote. mar1juana use at school is a safety & health concern. If it's not a safety or health concern, do whatever you want with it. Same criteria for other substance with rare exception for medical need.

I would go a step further (on personal & religious freedom) and said with Peyote already allowed, it's fine to me as long as there hasn't been any incidents associated with it, or any creditable evidences of expected incidents.

And if mar1juana use is being asked for under sincere religious reason, it must be shown that the amount they want or need to use is very unlikely to cause harm to others.
