    Pat sq'd is looking good.

His minutes should continue to increase, along with his great play in Hayes' absence.

    Thanks for the Highlight, Clutch.

with good development and if he puts in the work he has the potential to become a really good defender in the league

Rick better be impressed by that and give PPat more minutes when Chuck Hayes returns.

He is showing a lot in his time, probably replaces Hill when Chuck comes back.

I love Patterson. You can see why morey wanted to trade up for him. He brings everything the Rockets value.

    Hill for Thabeet.

Rockets open up a rotation spot for Patterson and get a chance at developing a 7"3 guy with skills the Rockets lack.. even if Thabeet is not ready yet.

Grizzlies do it because Hill has shown more than Tha-beast and get another big man with promise. There aren't an excess of them floating around.

    Food for thought.

Seriously, PPat looks like a fantastic role player, I think he can be our defensive glue guy.

And seriously, anyone but Thabeet dude. He's not "developing", he's just plain garbage. I have never seen anyone so tall get so little rebounds and look so awkward doing it. It's not that hard man and if he can't do it now, he'll never learn it. It takes a certain mentality to be a rebounder and that mentality isn't something people can learn.

Patawan has the chance to learn defense from Hayes, Wileycat scoring from Scola, and court vision from Miller. What a nasty chimera that would be...

That Lawson block was even better - he punched Lawson's shot 30 ft the other direction. I gotta say I'm pretty excited about Patterson. He did decently well on Melo. Carmelo hit most of his shots on Patterson but none of them were easy shots and Patterson mostly had a hand in his face every time. Some players just can't be stopped and that's how it goes. There was one play were Melo left Patterson in the dust but it was after a ridiculously quick low post spin that would have worked on just about anyone.

I'm not sure if it's been mentioned yet, but is Patterson the first Rocket in a long while who legitimately has a chance to fill the shoes of Otis Thorpe? Smart, blue collar big man who does the dirty work well AND brings enough offense that he will kill teams who forget about him?
