He really wasnt horrible. Its the makeup of the team that caused him to fail this year. We have gutless players.

Despite all the criticism to his work... McHale doesn't deserve that and I hope he is aware of it.

No way, man. Once we get rid of McHale the awesomeness of our roster will shine through. Last year he crippled the team to a mere 56 wins. Once he's gone - look out!

Funny thing is how McHale was right in the end and nearly everyone on the board (including the people who mocked him for "play harder") agree that the players don't give a crap and need to play...harder.

He will be a good coach for borderline playoff teams.

Sadly, we are now a borderline playoff team...

I guess the Kings won't be contending anytime soon.

With the state of the Kings, and the other candidates they have their eyes on, he would be the best choice.

What? This is crazy. The reason they didn't play harder is as much on him as anything.

He kept saying they weren't ready coming out of training camp, they needed more time, etc. news flash McHale... you're the f'ing coach.. it's your job to get players ready.

Sure, he got unlucky in having less than stellar character and bball IQ players, but he also was around more than long enough to instill whatever culture he wanted, and he failed miserably in that regard.

All of which completely ignores his many other coaching faults. Like inability to diagram plays, to fully grasp the X's, and O's, to put together a competent defensive scheme. And while I am more than happy to fault DM, and the buck stops with him ultimately, let's not also forget McHale was the big push behind drafting Royce White.

Again, sure, you have to rely on the players. But how do players come out of a timeout with barely any time left in the playoffs, knowing the only way you lose a series is with a three, and they're not even sure who is guarding whom, whether to switch or not, etc. (Trailblazers disaster). And that's just one example.

McHale is getting off the hook lately because JBB has been even worse. That doesn't mean McHale doesn't suck.

I'd feel bad for Kings fans if they hired him, but not that bad.

We'll rejoice when McHale tells Divac he wants to trade Collison to Houston for his favorite pet, Corey Brewer.

It's McHale's job to make sure they come in uninjured and in shape? I don't think the player's association would like the idea of McHale coaching them to "eat harder" and "recover harder" in the offseason.

Not that McHale was a great coach, but to blame him for the team not being ready because the players came in hurt and out of shape? I think that's more of a condemnation on our players than McHale specifically.

With the Kings it's more about getting along with Boogie. I think those two could get along but does McHale really want to take that job.
