No. I think Conley is just doing the wise thing. It'd be foolish to extend now.

I doubt he will end up here, but he's the kind of guy the Rockets need at PG. He's good at everything, and could play whatever role he needs to next to Harden.

He's the perfect compliment player to Harden. Knowing our PG situation, I would honestly have to think twice about trading Dwight Howard for him (plus fillers) and allow Capella to take over the Center duties.

They don't need Dwight... and also, I'd like to keep Dwight. save him for playoffs each year. These freak accidents don't happen that frequently.

Money wise it makes no sense for him to sign an extension. The max he can make in an extension is about 10 million a year.

Dwight and the rest of the starters plus whatever Memphis wants except Harden for COnley and Gasol

Build around Harden, Conley and Gasol

The only players signing an extension before the new TV deal kicks in are guys that are uncertain about their future in the league and need the money now. Every settled player that knows he will still be a hot commodity in two years will wisely let his contract expire and sign for way more later.

Why would he stay when Marc Gasol leaves for San Antonio?

He's the best "Complementary PG" in the league. He does everything you want a PG to do. He doesn't need to dominate the ball, but he can be a floor general when he wants to be. Such a versatile and effective player to have on your team. Unlike some other star PGs who'd demand the ball more, he'd be perfect next to Harden.

The reason he won't sign is because of the way the salary cap works with regards to his current extension, not because he wants out.

He can't sign an extension now for the max, he has to become a free agent.

Smart man. Either grizzlies give him the 5 year max or near or once the salary cap balloons or he goes and finds a new home where a couple of teams big market teams will still need starting point guards such as the Lakers, Knicks, Celtics or lesser teams like the Kings, Pelicans or Pacers.

If he plays like he did this year he is in great position to get paid. Great complimentary player. Easily worth 13m+ a year. Defense, leadership,a veterans and ball handling all wrapped up in one player. If only we could have that on our team for a point guard. Hmmmmmmmmm.

You guys are crazy if you think he's doing this for any reason other than the soon-to-explode salary cap.

There are definitely very few point guards that would fit better beside Harden than Conley.
