    HEALTH ADVISORY

The League City Police Department received a call this morning at 11:22 a.m. from Intermediate Medical Care located at 2640 E League City Parkway.

A medical worker stated a patient who had recently traveled from Africa was at the facility and exhibiting symptoms that could be consistent with Ebola. As a precaution, the facility and immediate area were closed and the Galveston County Health District was notified. League City Emergency Services personnel are treating this situation with every precaution and working closely with Galveston County Health officials to transport the League City resident to UTMB for testing. Any other personnel or patients present at the facility this morning have been kept quarantined until the Galveston County Health District evaluates the situation.

Although we realize that this may cause concern in our community, we ask people to remain calm. League City EMS contacted the Center for Disease Control and based upon the countries the patient visited the agency believes there is very little to zero risk of exposure to Ebola. Representatives from the Galveston County Health District stated, “Because of conflicting reports, GCHD is standing on the side of caution until such time UTMB evaluates and confirms the person’s lack of risk for Ebola. Once GCHD confirms facts from UTMB experts, guidance will be provided to the public and the clinic.”

League City officials will continue to monitor the situation closely. Any future updates or information from the Galveston County Health District will be shared on all League City social media platforms and websites. Ebola media scare hype tactics...

More Americans have married Kim Kardashian than died from ebola. #Fact.

Typical bird flu, swine flu, etc... epidemic to capture and scare society. Look up the stats in Africa, more people die from syphilis than ebola in Africa.

Everyone is all worked up. I'm glad i don't watch the news, may be why I'm always so happy.

I understand what you are trying to convey. At the same time it is pretty stupid.

There are a lot of reasons you don't want panic. But yeah
