I don't know what's funnier - the fact that Shaq made first team when Yao has him beat in EVERY statistical category, or the fact that Ben Wallace made second team ahead of Yao.

1st Team votes number 7. Not bad, considering the lottery status...

Who the hell votes for these? Big Z got 5 first place votes, and so did Kristic. If it's members of the press, then could there be some idiots who vote for their local guy, then shaq, then wallce, leaving Yao off the ballot?

Saw this coming a mile a way, but it's still ludicrous. Maybe Yao has to average 4 times as many points as wallace in order to get some respect. Wallace's 1 rpg and .6 bpg advantage must have just been too much for him to overcome.

edit: oops, misread the votes. Big Z and Kristic only had 5 total points, not first place votes. The voters are idiots anyway.

I can understand Yao not getting 1st team. He missed 25 games.

But Carmelo Anthony getting in ahead of Kevin Garnett is just a complete joke.

Actually--Shaq missed more games than Yao did which makes this all the more RIDICULOUS!

Shaq is going down hill fast, at the same age Hakeem was still dominate.

Yao is clearly the best center in the NBA right now, and his seperation from the rest should only get bigger.

I'm willing to accept Shaq over Yao, because Shaq is a great player, even though Yao played better than he did. However, I am much more upset that freaking BEN WALLACE, the overrated, flopping piece of ****, is rated over Yao. When will people remember that the All NBA awards are for individual achievement, not team achievement? Ben Wallace's individual achievement is not even close to Yao's. No one can tell me with a straight face that someone who scores 1/3 of what Yao scores, and only makes up for it with 1 rebound, 1 steal, .5 blocks is better than Yao. Ridiculous. Ben Wallace has gone from underrated to wildly overrated.

shaq at this point of his career is a decent player, not great, not like he once was. The team is Wade's and Shaq is just along for the ride.

Hopefully 10 years from now Yao when he slows down will get his by making it based on rep like others do.

NBA awards and NFL pro-bowl voting are two most rep-based things out there.
