This is a good little tid bit from the chronicle. I think in life you need to find those who can work with you and relate. Its almost like an amazing feat. But the the truth its hard to find this. In Nba its amazing when it happens, look at the bulls, lakers, spurs, and now the warriors...

Rockets might need to find a roster around a scorer like harden to make a team with. If this team currently the one, then find one that is....

Team chemistry is what this team needs the most...the talent is there.

McHale is one of the very best at building team chemistry....not x's and o's....and we replaced him with a rookie head coach completely inexperienced in building team chemistry.

    Wut?

Team chemistry is when the team shows spirit and effort throughout a game and fights to the end. It's when the players play hard, COMMUNICATE and trust each other in defence and try to make plays for each other. When they put the team above themselves.
When they get into a slump they still believe that they can right the ship and even if they are down a big lead they give everything to come back. They hold each other accountable but also are happy for each other.
Doesn't mean they have to be best friends off the court but on the court show trust and support.

And team chemistry is not only in the coach. It's first on management to find the right mix of players to put in the lockeroom. It's not exact science and you have to be lucky to find chemistry too. It always needs seasoned vets who speak up and are leaders among their peers.

It is when the guys enjoy (have fun) playing with each other and for each other. They have each others' back. They trust each others even when the going gets tough.

This can only happens when you have a core of good-hearted players. Real chemistry never happens with selfish players because teammates know that these guys only care about themselves.

I am going to change my sig: "Intelligence AND character are the most underrated talents in the NBA,"

Undisciplined chemistry is not what we need.

There are several reasons...some of which we know about and some we don't.

By all accounts, the Rockets training camp this year was a total joke, an unmitigated disaster. Front line players not participating for whatever reasons, zero continuity, zero opportunity to build chemistry.

We know about Ty's summer. That clearly carried over to training camp....and now to the season.

We have heard some about Harden's summer...but we don't know the whole story. Obviously, he came into camp out of shape and completely unfocused on basketball. There is no denying that.

Then there's D12, whose failing body kept him out of most of training camp.

Go back to the interviews....watch how many times BEFORE the first game that McHale cried about the total lack of preparation coming into the season. You can't build chemistry playing the Vipers line up instead of your NBA team.

The lack of preparation has/had consequences.

Now, the part we don't know about....what happened in that team meeting? and more importantly what was going on that resulted in the blow-up? What are the issues between Howard and Harden? and others.

Management did a knee jerk reaction.

Good management looks for root problems and takes deliberate, well thought out actions to fix those.

In our case, I fear management has made the situation worse, not better.

We still have talent...but no experienced leadership to focus that talent on a championship. Maybe they (the players) can pull it off without that leadership, maybe not.

morley's IBM can't compute this part of the spreadsheet.
    0000000000011111000000 system error.

I hope they figure it out on the court, otherwise it's going to be a long season like those brooklyn nets that were supposed to be loaded or the 2012 lakers.

Apparently, for the Rockest, chemistry is a Glitch in Morey's Matrix -- an unlikely or irregular occurrence = last year and 22 games!
