The truth is that Rose is no longer an all star caliber player. He's still capable of occasional good games like last night but he's no longer a 20/8 type of a player. As a result he is not worth a close to maximum contract any more. In his mind, however, he still thinks that he's the MVP and should get paid. He will have a rude awakening when his free agency comes around. I don't think Chicago necessarily wants to get rid of him now but they certainly won't overpay to keep him.
