Leverage ploy by BOB's camp. Seriously, MARYLAND? Good one.

Wouldn't be disappointed if he did leave though.

If he goes, I don't think many fans, players, or anyone else will miss him very much.

Please take the job BOB. A coaching upgrade would be terrific (assuming Rick Smith doesn't screw it up again)

    This is a bogus report.

Maryland would never be anything more than a fallback plan in case O'Brien gets fired. Maryland would be the worst head coaching gig he's had. Why would he step down to that? It'd make no sense.

It's a power play at best.

Lol maybe he doesn't like the pressure that big boy coaching jobs bring.

Unless he wins, in which case McNair will be criticized.

    1) The article doesn't mention him stepping down. And it talks a lot about the turmoil with the Texans. It makes absolute sense that OB would express interest in the job if he wasn't confident in being able to keep his current position with the Texans.
    2) He's only had 2 head coaching gigs.
    3) Because of the situation surrounding it, Penn State was arguable a worse coaching gig.

But your #3 reason and the job he did there with all the turmoil and less scholarship players make him a good coaching option for College. So it would be a downgrade to go there.

The constant in this terrible situation is Rick Smith. I don't care what BOb does. Just as long as Rick Smith is gone first. But, he'll still be here and that's why i'm not watching a single Texans game again until he's gone.
