From the two I've actually purchased, both have had the yellow tint at the bottom of the display. Tried the sunlight method for about 10 minutes at a time, but still have the yellow tint. Still haven't tried the UV light method though. Sold the one with the dead pixel (came from OnePlus like that), and kept the other.
that new moto x looks pretty cool, i'm gonna hold off hope/ see if google offers a new nexus...if not i'll prob go the moto x route.
Was thinking about getting one for my mom. Where'd you get yours? They're on sale at Fry's but I'd rather not pay sales tax and probably get it off eBay or something.
cool. there's an online seller with a lot of stock of the one pluses. on his q&a sections, hes trying to say its a common problem with all units, not just the ones hes selling. just trying to see if its really a 'normal' problem with the phone or he's selling bad units sent back to the company and he got it cheap.
thanks for the info. didnt know theres a fix for that, interesting. the yellow tint, how bad is it? just a minor thing or really affects your enjoyement of the phone?
It's a normal problem according to the Oneplus.net forums. There is a software fix for it on XDA where you can change the gamma on only the area of the yellow tint to blend it in with the rest of the screen. Haven't tried it myself though, but I will in the future when I get the chance. It's not as bad as you may think unless you're always staring at a white screen when you look at your phone since that seems to be the thing that makes it most noticeable. Other than that, hardly notice it 90% of the time. Although that one dead pixel on the phone I sold was annoying the hell out of me.
I got at Amazon, same price with tax it is what it is. Ordered Wed night and got it today. Obviously lag behind other phones but at $299 + tax, was good. Replaced a Samsung S3 T-Mobile that was slowing down due to dual-coreness and more resource exhausting apps.
Hey, I figured this thread would be the best to ask. I need a new phone, but I think my heart is now set on the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact when it actually releases. Sadly being on AT&T, I would need to root the phone to work. But how hard is it to root a phone? I used to be pretty tech davy, but I've been out of it awhile. Any advise?
Mr McStank, Thank you. Now... can someone tell me why this phone is so good? I'm not doubting it but I haven't been following phone news since the Lumia 920 came out. $350 seems steep. Few questions: Does it have wireless charging? Is the phone solid or do I have to get a protective casing? Can I use AT&T or Verizon or T-Mobile? What issues have people been having with the phone and are they easily remedied? Anything else I should know about this phone? I will look up all this stuff in time, but if anyone already knows the answers I would be very appreciative if you could answer these and/or point me in the right direction. Rep will be given!
