When will people stop supporting those clowns. Astros and rockets are the only true Houston sports teams. The Texans are just a bunch of clowns that came and tricked everyone into believing them.

Lulz the Texans took 10 years to make it to the playoffs, I don't think they were trying to trick anyone. And after losing 400+ games over the past 4 seasons, the Astros are suddenly a "true" Houston sports team? Were you saying that before this season?

He should have added those 3 plus seasons we were losing 100 games is because we were developing talent in the minors. Astros ALWAYS had plan, the Rockets had a plan when they kept finishing in 9th place, the Texans, I dont know if they have a plan.

Yeah, the difference between the Texans and the Astros/Rockets, is that the latter two teams had goals. And they work towards those goals. They may not always succeed for various reasons, but you can see them working towards winning.

The Texans don't plan. Everything they do is reactionary. Even their best coaching hire, Wade Phillips, came because they HAD to fire their previous coordinator because he was so bad he put the Texans D in the history books, in a bad way. The Texans screw up and then they put a bandage there. Sometimes it works. Most of the time it doesn't.

Lol like I said so called franchise player and leader, the over-rated JJ Fatt is a loser. Another year and no playoffs for egg ball Texans thanks to an incompetent leader like JJ who pales in comparison to James Harden who has taken the Rockets to the playoffs every year

Partly true. Question should be when will people stop watching hand egg where so called fat, grown "men" grab and hold each other by the crotch? Yuck , disgusting. I'd rather watch WWE where at least there is much more athleticism involved.

You can't really compare the NFL to the NBA. Both are team sports, but one great player in the NBA can lead your team to a modicum of success. One great defensive player in the NFL ain't gonna be enough if the rest of the roster(not to mention the coaching) sucks.

Umm, what about the Carlos Lee years? There was clearly no plan then. We just kept adding crappy veterans and delaying the necessary rebuild. I'm proud that the Astros have turned it around and I consider the multiple 100+ loss seasons part of their plan. But don't let delusions get the best of you, there was a stretch of 4 years where there was absolutely no hope for the organization.

One great player can lead you places irrespective of the sport. I don't follow egg ball but I am sure there are teams of the past where a great player has done that with mediocre talent around.

There is a reason why the T Wolves go no where with Rubio as franchise player. Same reason the Texans don't go anywhere with JJ Watt. Because they're both over-rated losers and not really great.

And yet you need the Texans to play crap to appreciate the Rockets? So if Texans play well you wouldn't appreciate the Rockets? LOL.

We'll have to agree to disagree. Watt is an amazing talent. But football more than any other sport is about the team. And the Texans just aren't a very good one right now.

But I think the main problem is the organization. There doesn't seem to be much accountability from McNair. And I agree with others who say there's no long-term plan. Even with football being a team sport, arguably the most important position is quarterback and aside from their very first pick ever(David Carr) nearly 14 years ago, have they ever really made that a priority?

Perhaps when they traded for Schaub.

I thought about Schaub, but what was the ceiling on him when the Texans got him from Atlanta? Was he ever gonna be anything more than a servicable QB?

Starts with the owner. Les hires Morey and stays out of his way. Uncle Bob hires Rick Smith.

PS, Clowney still hasn't gotten a sack and Carr 2.0 could have been drafted in the second round.

Let's not discount Schaub because of the way it ended. Dude was easily the best backup in the league and had demonstrated promise when he got playing time. He wasn't as much of a gamble as Mallet and Hoyer.

Please do not talk to that troll... Anyone who calls JJ Watt a big fat nonathletic loser is either a complete r****d or a huge troll. That asshat is only here to provoke responses, so please stop egging him on.

Schaub was a top 10 QB for a while until Fat Albert sat on his foot. Then he transformed into Mr. Pick 6. It was a long time ago now, but we had one of the top offenses in the league. Defense on the other hand... :(

BTW this is the GARM which is meant for Rockets related discussion and I will support our leader, our MVP, one of the top 5 players in the league, a winning player who has made the playoffs every year in James Harden. I do not care about the unathletic, over-rated, loser player who leads his team to loss after loss in JJ Fatt.

I will also support the Rockets - only team to have bought rings to this city and the team which is closest to ringing again and plays a real sport. I do not care about egg ball Texans where non athletic fake tough guys grab and hold each other by the crotch.

You can take your Texans discussion to the Texans forum of CF.

My theory is that this is atonement for Houstonians not appreciating the Oilers.

Granted it's apples and oranges(or NFL and NBA), but it's also worth noting that Les and Morey have had a plan. Namely stockpile assets, remain competitive, and try to trade for or sign a star player(or two or three). I didn't always agree with it since it resulted in a lot of 14th picks in the draft, but eventually it did work(thank you, OKC!).

BTW, one other formula Les has stuck with during his tenure as owner is building the team around a star center and shooting guard. Ok, so he inherited Dream and then acquired Clyde only a year and a half after buying the team, but the next two really good Rockets squads he oversaw had Yao and T-Mac and now Dwight and James.
