I thought it was the shoes but he ended up kickin those off. I've seen a couple other stunts this guy does such as where he walks through glass and that was crazy too.
That one's actually the easiest to fake. Put a dwarf in the bottom and have them hold the "half" woman on top of them until the seperation. Obviously it has to be very well executed, but that can pretty much logically explain it. Can't say as much for the walking on water type of stuff.
Look after he seperates the top from the bottom how he pushes the top part of the black skirt down. Almost like he was either hiding whatever was under the skirt or pushing a button to make the bottom half stand up......
Near the end of the video, you can see his path is still parted and the swimmers just swam around it. The simmer never crossed his path, even from the beginning. Only a girl swam very deep underneath.
And what happened at the 1:10 spot in the video? Might just be me but it looks like a girl crossed his path as Criss stepped over her.
Only thing I noticed was that his jeans seemed to fold under him when he stepped like he was walking on something solid.
Couldn't it be like a long thick plastic plate that he walks on and right where the girl walks through they have a slit cut just big enough for someone to swim through so they can make it seem like there is not anything under it. Did you notice when they showed it from underneath that they didn't show his foot step down cause you might see that it plants on something.
From watching that Pen and Teller special, you have to not think of it all going down legitly with everything happening in real time. The people who are astonished are told to act astonished and might even be on payroll. One thing that stuck out was the view from Angel's POV when the girl swims under him. His legs look a bit awkward, like he's being suspended above the water. For the angles when the camera is far away, he's got either a long ramp or a clear box or something.
