    I know head injuries will be the flash point portion of the article but I really think these guys are a) ill equipped to deal with "career" after sports and b) really have a difficult time adjusting to life after the spotlight has dimmed.

    Sad nevertheless.

    kid was a good ballplayer. always liked him. used to beat up on the astros.

    this story has gotten a surprisingly small amount of press.

    I really freel bad for him and his family to deal with this at a supposedly happy time.

    ^^Poor timing. That's all I'll say.

    Ryan Freel was one of the most fearless players in the last decade. A true grinder. One of the Astros-killers of that time. Such a sad ending.... Hate to speculate, but I wonder if the concussions that he's suffered were a factor.
