Is the 1.15M Euro number after taxes or before?

It doesn't say on the site where I got the number from, but on page 1 of this thread I wrote it's after taxes, so I must have read somewhere those numbers are indeed after taxes.
Also, don't forget, most players in Europe get housing, a car and other perks.

I've read some reports the last few days that McCalebb has been offered to several top European teams, although I'm not certain whether he's being offered to those teams by his agent or Siena (his current team).
FWIW though the Siena GM has already said McCalebb will in fact play for another team next year. From what I understand he hasn't found a new team yet however, so one might be inclined to believe that Siena desperately wants to cash in whatever money the can get for him.

It was so awesome watching the Nigerian team, coaches and fans celebrate making the Olympics. Ike Diogu wasn't much of an NBA player but it's a great moment for him carrying his team over the finish line tonight.

Apparently Al Horford was a very sore loser. What a chump.

I'm over the moon. Every single player on that team deserves it and especially the coach. Those guys especially Olumide Oyedeji have been through so much representing that country. Keep in mind those players probably aren't even the best 12 Nigeria could assemble if players/agents/teams/and the federation got their act right. A bunch of players in the NBA and Europe missing from that Nigerian team.

Ike was a beast for Nigeria all tourney long. He was a solid contributor to the Clips the season before last and should still be on an NBA roster(never should have been a lottery pick but he's still a solid player)

I missed the Horford thing. I heard he left the court before it ended, true?

Well, he plays in Europe. Not a whole lot of people watching European competitions around here.

FWIW news came out yesterday that McCalebb has a few offers from a couple of NBA teams on the table and is currently weighing his options.
Fingers crossed he ends up with the Rockets.

What did Horford do? Couldn't watch the final minute. Horford started the tournament being the leading scorer and then teams payed attention as he was consistently being doubled, even tripled team when touching the ball in the paint or the block. And of course he couldn't adapt, he is not used to it, but our team also failed to try to get advantage of that. I don't know what happened to his free throw shooting, for his career he has been mostly excellent for a big man, but he shot them horrendously in this tournament, I'm wondering if missing that free throw against Boston left a hiccup in his psyche.

Nigeria totally deserved it, just for beating Greece and Lithuania in the same tournament. They are overly long -and athletic for international basketball- it made a difference against us, and though I couldn't watch, must have helped them against the other even less athletic teams. Diogu took over and we were passive about it, the Aminu brothers were great, first time I see NBA Aminu consistently showing initiative.

DR came so close but we still lack discipline, have almost nothing coming off the bench and it showed last night. Specially we need more young players to emerge, Cisco has been washed-up since last summer, Villanueva is a punk, Al is going to be 30 in 4 years and Jack Michael Martinez our captain, who was a stud in the tournament, is 31 yrs old already. Hiring Calipari was just a swank move by our government but he did a very good job, he has taken us the farthest, I hope we keep hiring high-profile coaches.

The announcer said Horford walked off the court before the game ended.

“Fener”’s primary target asks for 2.000.000 euros per year, whole Mens Sana Siena’s president, Ferdinando Minucci asking around 1.2 million euros just to let him go. You see, because of their budget’s cut (-30%), the Italians want to get rid of his heavy contract, where there is no buy out, so Minucci can ask for whatever price he wants to. And now you understand why Siena’s president denied CSKA Moscow’s offer for David Andersen, which was about 700.000 euros! About McCalebb, it’s a matter of time he will sign with Fenerbahce and Romain Sato will follow, if David Hawkins wont sign with them.
2 mil euros /yr + 1.2 mil euro buy out.

Gone Bo gone. I guess he will never get to play in the NBA now.

Quote:
According to source close to the player, the future of Bo McCalebb will be in Russia with Unics Kazan or in Turkey with Fenerbahce Ulker Istanbul.
Both teams made their offer to the American PG with passport from FYROM who has spent the last two seasons in Italy with Mens Sana Siena.
The top priority of Ferdinando Minucci, president of Mens Sana, is to shop McCalebb this offseason because at the end of the next one, McCalebb has an NBA Out with very small amount of money.
Minucci wants to monetize the departure of Bo McCalebb and he is asking €1.3M. Unics Kazan offered to McCalebb a €2.2M per year contract while the offer made by Fenerbahce was €2M per season. In the Turkish powerhouse, McCalebb would work again with Simone Pianigiani just appointed as head coach for the next two years.
The buyout is now a big issue for both Unics Kazan and Fenerbahce because the two clubs are extremely eager to sign Bo McCalebb.

One last tribute and then you'll never see me bump this thread again.

Report: Spurs Target Bo McCalebb, Offer To Buyout Contract With Montepaschi Siena

Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap...#ixzz21R4MYyCq

The Spurs are interested in Bo McCalebb and have offered to buyout his contract with Montepaschi Siena, according to a report.

McCalebb, a 5-foot-10, 180 pound guard out of New Orleans, averaged 14.8 points on 58.6 percent shooting in 61 games with Siena last season.

McCalebb has an opt-out clause at the end of next season and is drawing interest from Fenerbahce Ulker and Unics Kazan.
