Also, I hope Harden plays at least average defense this year (I know. I know.). We stand a chance of being a really stellar defensive team if he would just play anything resembling decent defense.
I just read the bold stuff, but those are all good things to hear. Hope he does hold JH accountable...certainly nobody else does
I lived in upstate New York north of Syracuse (Oswego) for almost a year. We had to pay a guy to plow our driveway every other day, and the one time he didn't show up was the day I had to take my wife to the airport. I almost threw my back out shoveling the driveway so we wouldn't miss the flight. Only took one winter to convince me. You know it's bad when guys there bragged about their snow blowers.
Shoveling snow blows. But on the other hand, having only 15 days in the 90's during summer and true seasons is quite incredible. Ariza really seems to have matured and only makes me more excited to see how this roster shakes up.
It seems as Morey is building this team to compete in the playoffs. If we can improve our halfcourt offense and show the improvement, defensively, that this team is capable of, we could really be a force.
Haha, I remember this. It was after the Harden gamewinner, same one where Ariza went off for like 10 treys. Washington fans were incredibly bitter about this game So, was Harden pollinating Ariza with his beard?
You would be surprised. I prefer the weather in Houston to most of the country. It isn't as mild and nice as some place like San Diego, but it beats most of the midwest and northeast.
Closer to the season, closer to poster reason. Ariza will be an UPGRADE over GQ. (overall.) As to Harden's matador style, at least with Howard-Bev-Ariza on the floor it will "funnel" plays and defense more. Can our PF's step up ? Big Q. There's always the trade deadline of course.
When Parsons was a Rocket "Harden, Howard & Parsons are the only untouchables on this team", "Parson's is the glue that holds the team together". When Parson leaves Houston "Parsons is just a overrated role player", "Chandler was never that good to begin with" I swear the fans on this board change more than the Houston weather
It would be nice if he could "lean on" Harden when he phones it in on D. Certainly Dwight doesn't have it it his character, and Parsons had his "everybody's buddy" thing going on. If he could actually be a junior Shane Battier in the locker room, that could have an unexpectedly large effect on the character of the team. He certainly has the defensive bona fides, as well as the "older vet" gravitas. The question will be whether he has enough charisma to bend Harden.
