Matt Bullard called them out on Twitter over their anti 3 pointer comment...said he made a living doing it.
Apparently our broadcast crew hates 3 pointers? This is par for the course, the media loves to dog on Houston. Plus, the one guy that likes Houston doesn't say a thing: Jalen Rose. He would be the one guy making sense of why things unfolded the way they did. Why did they even do this piece without Jalen? Lowe, Simmons and Jalen are basketball minds that share their opinions with you. ...I only made up two names on that list. If you want proof of how stupid these guys are acting about Houston (on purpose for ratings), look at the Vegas odds of winning it all. Today we stand at 25/1 which is good for 6th in the league. Only OKC, San Antonio, Cleveland, LA Clippers, and Chicago have better odds. And 6th is a ranking we can win a championship from. We've done it before. The odds will change, but I did look them up here: http://www.vegas.com/gaming/futures/nba-championship/
These are the same guys I'm assuming that were pumping up the Pistons last year as a wacky off-the-wall league pass choice. Whatever.
It's a watchability ranking, not a playoff prediction. Houston is really hard for other NBA fans to watch because free throws are really boring, Dwight has an ugly post game, and Bill and Clyde are unrepentant homers.
I like that the main justification for the low ranking is that Bill Simmons simply doesn't like watching Dwight play. Googling Bill Simmons + Dwight Howard brings up a long list of incoherent rants about how much he doesn't rate Dwight. I wonder if it has anything to do with this horrible call from the 2004 draft: Hope he has fun watching the Knicks and Bobcats more than he watches the Rockets. It's his time to waste I guess.
I can't make up my mind if I like or hate Simmons. I love his passion for the NBA, but his irrationality when it comes to certain players is annoying. And apparently Zach hates the Rockets too. This was a disappointing read. I didn't expect Houston to be in the top 5 for League Pass...but 15 is an insult.
Milwaukee will be a lot more fun to watch than people think. Spoiler Spoiler https://v.cdn.vine.co/r/videos/3250...p4?versionId=P_mO789peks5PSgastY0mQr1Zp4pFCba Spoiler
Grantland is too damn Hipster... Simmons just does whatever the fuc he wants... facts be damned... he is the epitome of irrational confidence
Chill out, its just league pass rankings... I'm just glad that they called out Sean Elliot's horrendous announcing
Ah... I thought I read every word of that correctly but alas I did not. I actually can't argue with his point then. Watchability is all opinion. So who cares. Simmons should watch Dwight play live. It's one thing to see him leap on tv, it's a whole 'nutha ballgame to see it live.
Kinda have to agree a bit, this team can be really annoying to watch at certain times, with Harden chucking for FTs, Dwight getting hacked, no real playbook and lots of ISO, etc. Question is if there are 14 teams more enjoyable, but I definitely get the point.
Sounds about right. They're number 1 for me personally, but I can understand why others wouldn't get off on watching them.
