Camby out w/ a sprained ankle -- Aldridge to start at center, Gerald Wallace at PF, and Batum at SF.

This will be a tough one for the Rockets unless the Blazers are really flat.

It will be an ugly dog fight match: both teams are fighting for playoff spot; both teams have injured rotation players; both teams are in a back to back game and both teams' starters played extended min last night...

Kmac's defensive lineups will be interesting to see. I would like to see a small lineup to match Portland's. Something like Lowry, Kmart, Bud, Parsons, Dally. It won't happen as the starting lineup but I would like to see it. This is the kind of game where Lee is so important because he can be used as the sf. Lowry, Kmart, Lee, Parsons, Dally would be pretty good especially considering Bud is a huge liability on D.

I just think the Blazers are a few levels above our team and a bad matchup right now.

Our bench needs to step up big time. Hard to do that when Bud and Hill are so inconsistant, they ruin it for the other 3.

Maybe but we kept it close at home against the Thunder best team in the West.

Wallace can shoot outside better, and we all know how often Scola will go outside to cover his man.

Also Wallace is way freaking faster and agile the Smith. Not to mention Smith was having a bad start to the season.

Actually Josh had a pretty high PER so far..... he was just useless the game against US.

    keys to tonight's game:

    -control the pace.
blazers are one of the fastest paced teams this year and have a bunch of wings that can fly up and down the court in batum, matthews, felton, wallace. we are one of the worst teams at defending against a fast break. we cannot put up dumb shots or careless turnovers that lead to easy buckets on the other end.

    -punish them with our size.
did i say that right? this is a phrase that hasn't been associated with the rockets in a decade or so. if portland starts crash at the 4 and i'm assuming they'll have aldridge guard scola at the post, then dally HAS to dominate the offensive glass. otherwise there will be mismatch galore on our defensive end.

-have a short leash on momentum changes
i don't think we can afford to put ourselves in a double digit hole. they are too talented and well coached to let us back in the game. i suspect that lowry and dally will get a healthy dose of minutes tonight because they are the most important pieces to our team structure.

    go rox!
