    Injured RB is injured. Shocker!!!

    Damn.

Here's the true test for O'brien. If he can some how muster together an offense from our QB's and have a makeshift run game, and we're still in playoff contention at the end of the year, I'll count that as a win.

But damn man, That is a huge blow. Looks like Chris Polk is going to be the starter for most of the season. Hope what he flashed with the Eagles shows up. I don't trust Blue to hold his own as a RB1.

He better not be seriously injured or he's a cap casualty next season for sure. He's already missed 11 games the last 2 seasons, that's not someone you allow to take up 9.5 mil of your cap.

At 7MM, I think he's almost a cap casualty no matter what.

Probably, but if he had a really good season where he stayed healthy, I think the chances would be a lot better of the team working out something to keep him around and dropping that cap hit. If he has a 3rd injury plagued year in a row, you don't even have to think twice about it.

Probably going to RB by committee. Hilliard probably just made the squad now. Polk, Blue, Gimes, and Hilliard. What a **** storm.

Honestly I don't know if the Texans even want to keep him around, even at a discount.

A 30 year old (by next year's kickoff) RB with that many touches... all indications are they should cut bait.

You simply can't pay a guy like that top 5 positional money. Nor should you be giving them extensions.

So...JJ at RB? Although this sucks cause of how good Arian played last season I think we will be ok. Saw a lot of both Blue and Hillard in college. Blue will improve in his second year and I think people are sleeping on Hillard(highly recruited out of HS, got washed in the LSU RB rotation) I think they'll be able to hold it down along with Polk until Foster comes back.

But if Arian is out for the year we need another RB.

If he is indeed going to have surgery, he won't be much use even if they put him on IR designated to return. It isn't like he'll immediately take first team reps away, he'll be very limited with his recovery. It's probably a lot easier now to move away from him after the year is over. He'll only count against the cap for 2.3 million in dead money, and a total of 7 million in cap savings.

What's the recovery time? Even if he's out 8-10 weeks, he'll miss a handful of games max.
