My wife underwent this treatment several years ago and had tremendous success. Though, I'm sure any success is dependent upon the underlying rationale necessitating the treatment. Meaning, if you need it (i.e. possible loss of limb), do it, and if you don't need it (i.e. minor healing), it's not worth the expense, which can be considerable.
Yes, I recall most of it was covered but there were a lot of nickel & dime charges that were not. She had some serious medical stuff going on back then and we had so many medical bills that I can't recall all of the details of coverage. Other than that even with insurance, it nearly wrecked us.
