Do you think if we had won that last game of the season, and Redskins got the first overall pick and we got 2nd.

    Would we have taken Bortles?

I honestly have no idea, I kind of hope the answer is no, and there is something that BOB and smith decided none of the QB's were worth it, or is it that they werent worth CLOWNEY? Just a thought, whats your take?

There's a possibility that Clowney would have been still available at pick #2 because St Louis is already set at the defensive end position and after dealing with VY, Fisher may not have approved of drafting another pampered athlete... But if Clowney wasn't available _ they probably would have drafted Robinson or Mack.

I would like to think BOB is smarter than that.

The brass at St. Louis would've taken Clowney with the #1 overall pick...What the Texans did was draft the best overall player in the draft...Sure they have an abundance of talent, but adding Clowney only makes them more talented. Furthermore, St Louis wouldve actively sought to trade down(ie. with Atlanta).

And yes I thank Case for doing his job and being a legit backup QB and not winning...This Texans team needed depth and talent, and the #1 pick wasnt just important...it was getting the #1 pick of each round.

BOB's plan from the start it seems was to rebuild from the inside out, so no. If 1 or 2 extra wins allowed Kubiak to keep his job, then he would've survived by promising Bob McNair to find the next Andrew Luck in the draft.

What makes you think they got the best players in each round...?

My take is how do we know Bortles is better than Savage?
    Only time will tell.

With Clowney off the board, we'd be more inclined to trade with the Bills.

I think if there was no Clowney we'd probably trade back or go with an OT.

I forgot what happened in the draft, but I think I'd take the deal Cleveland took to move back... except I forgot what is was. Maybe it was Buffalo? Someone did something, and I'd do that.

Robinson may well have been the target.
Texans may have taken Carr with their second.
I somehow feel Rashade Hageman would have been in their sights as well.

Bortles would be nice but I think he is more of a system type quarterback. I think the Texans would have gone with their 2nd option and that would be Khalil Mack. Mack would be the defensive beast that will give our defense an edge.

Mack may not be an athletic freak like Clowney but he is still physically gifted and he has great football instincts. He can be something like Ray Lewis if everything pans out.

Even though I am happy with Clowney with the Number 1 pick, I still wished the Texans would have drafted Mack with the number 1 overall. I really like him as a player and his skills would really help this team defensively. I think Clowney is more raw and has a higher potential, but Mack is more of a safer pick.

If everything goes exactly as plan, then Clowney will have a better career but to me, Mack is more of a sure thing.
