17-0. They'll be so awesome that they'll win the bye week.

    I gave 'em 8-8.

After going down the schedule and matching up against the opponents, I actually came out to 10-6. But the Texans have a way of losing AT LEAST 2 games they should've won.

Now, there is a new QB and new regime in power, yes, but I still really like 8-8.
8-8 is actually pretty optimistic compared to last year.

Hopefully I wont be the laughing stock of Ole Miss this year. Got Saints, Falcons & Titans fans to embarrass over here...

I chose 7-9, but I could see up to 9-7. It's hard to tell with complete QB/Coach regime changes how things will go.

6 wins...hope I'm wrong and they outperform that. Just don't have a lot of faith in this organization, generally..or the fact they are still a team coming off a 2-14 season.

Man, I thought I was the only one that thought they would go 9-7.

I dont know if they'll make the playoffs. but i see 9 wins.

change of coach. stronger defense. Better qb (at least a better qb that 2013 schoob). weak schedule.

Barnwell on Grantland placed their floor at either 5-11 or 6-10. I think we will be a little better, potentially 8-8. Fitzpatrick might be a bad QB, but 1) he's never had the likes of Foster/AJ/Hopkins surrounding him and 2) how much worse can he be compared to our starters last year? Defense should be fine, offense might surprise.

well, look when Jim Harbaugh signed with the 49ers to be the head coach, Alex Smith was still considered a bust, and it looked like that year if was going to be a rebuilding team, with a new coach and new scheme, and a bad QB.

but then Alex Smith started to play better, and with the help of their defense, started to win games ending with 13 wins, and almost playing in the superbowl, if it wasnt for 2 fumbles.

so, BOB, could do the same, lifting him to be a game manager, and not making a lot of mistakes, so with the great defense, they can win 8 or 9 games.

So those of you have who them at winning 10 games or more....

if they only win 6, are you going to say: "hey, look..that was real improvement from a 2 win season??" OR

are you going to be really disappointed??

^Yes, I would be disappointed. It's all about health. Watt, Cush, Clowney, Joseph, K Jackson, Brown, Foster, AJ, Hopkins need to stay relatively healthy.

Run the ball, protect the QB, don't throw pick 6's, get to the opposing QB, stop the run.

This team can win 10 games in the pathetic AFC South.

We all know how many close games we lost with multiple injuries and atrocious QB play. Plug in rookies that can contribute right away and some health on our side, the Texans can absolutely win 10, 11 games.

The Texans' defense will be top 5ish, imo.

I'll be both, even though I'm not going on record to say anything other than it wouldn't surprise me if they won 10 games.

Depends on how it happens. If they just aren't any good, then yes because it's a cakewalk of a schedule. If they suffer a ton of key injuries, I'll still be a bit disappointed with 6-10 because of how incredibly easy their schedule is, but it'll be more understandable.

Most likely disappointed. I don't think 2-14 is a realistic "baseline" for this team at all. That was one of those comical everything-goes-wrong years that culminates in the team quitting and the record being completely not reflective of the talent level. The type of thing that happens when your sample size is only 16 games.

I don't think they're world beaters, but I'd say the overall non-QB talent is pretty good, on a relative basis. Combine that with an upgrade to average at QB, a coaching staff that should be better and an incredibly weak schedule, and there's no excuse for this team to not be around .500 at a minimum.

The only way I wouldn't be disappointed is if Fitzpatrick has a Schaub-esque meltdown and becomes arguably the worst QB in the league. Obviously he's not their long-term plan, so if that somehow happens again, I wouldn't be that frustrated since it's not like they made a huge bet on him. But if Fitzpatrick is his usual self and the Texans aren't playing meaningful games in December... yeah, that'd be concerning.

I hear ya, and I agree. But we have a larger sample size stretching in to the previous season where the cracks started to show. I don't think it's a 2-14 team....but I don't think it's a good team, either.

Again...if I'm wrong, I'll be celebrating alongside of you. I'm in either way.

Honestly, at this point, if you're still cheering for Houston teams, you're probably not going anywhere ever. They haven't served up a lot to be very proud of for those who might be "frontrunners."
