Texans were #10 globally on forbes a few years back. This was actually a regression.

If you check the link in the first post, they listed them as the Redskins in last years rankings. But yeah, some publications refuse to refer to the team as the Redskins. Some have been doing it for quite a while. Others, like Forbes, have only recently adopted the practice.

It's the annual list that shows just how much Bud devalued his franchise by moving them to the sticks.

Americans love using "In The World" when they shouldn't.

The list in the OP is a world list, with Madrid, Manchester and Barcelona the top 3.

Texans were 5th in the NFL in 2013, now fall to 9th.... shouldn't have switched to turf ;)

    The Rams' surge is understandable.

In this thread's case it should've been used if you actually bothered to read it.

However, if Bud had stayed in Houston we would still be watching NFL games in the Astrodome. Which would not be good because the Dome sucked for football.

I thought Bud Adams left because he didn't want to play in the Dome anymore.

He also read the economics of football wrong. Back when he moved, stadiums were everything to a team.

Now? They make so much money off the media deals that all teams are highly profitable. Sure, you still want to have the stadium too... But nobody is moving to a much smaller market because of it anymore.

If he had just waited, Houston would have built him a new stadium.

Kinda glad it didn't happen, it would be outdated by now.

We might still be waiting for a new stadium if Bud and the Oilers had stayed. The Dome still stands today because the city won't tear it down. We had to lose our NFL franchise for the city to see the light. The Dome was a horrible stadium for football from the very beginning, but the city had a love affair with that building and were determined to keep using it.

Losing the Oilers showed the city that owners would be willing to move their teams if new stadiums aren't built. After the Oilers left, it didn't take long for Toyata center, Minute Maid Park, and NRG stadium to be built.
