    Look, elections have consequences.

The people spoke, and what those who wanted the second most popular, Russian-installed candidate said was: we want to pay more to ISP's and let them leverage their concentrated market power to extract more from us.

It's called populism boys. Travel outside your urban bubble into the heartland - people love Comcast. It doesn't make them evil.

LOL @ all the 4chan posters during the election that propped up Trump. This is the kind of issue that would make them turn on him.

Sam, what the people want is internet access based on the Enron Broadband model and they don't want internet insiders running the show -- we need regular Joe's without agendas running our ISPs.

If you deregulate the Internet, you'd see a revival.

No longer shackled by Big Gov, you'd see Mom and Pop CDN's populate desolate main streets across the country.

Good honest Christians of American origin would have high paying jobs sorting packets and sending them on their way.

It would be grand, just grand!

Basically what this means is your internet will look more like your cable bill.

Instead of paying Netflix, you will pay Verizon or AT&T or TimeWarner or whomever you get your internet from. So it will be pricer. You can kiss HBO2Go good bye.

Streaming content from small players will be gone. Sites like this will also be gone as they will have to pay an access fee or users will have to pay extra for the "free internet".

Ironically, it might actually finally kill the D&D and other blogs where the right spreads it's misinformation. So there is a positive to it I suppose.

Of course the average anti-gov't idiot here won't understand this until all their favorite fake news sites are gone, and then they will blame liberals for censoring them.

We should try to make electricity and water flow the same way, if you pay more you get better service, if you pay less, you should get intermittent service.

Don't worry... Trump's already on that with plans to eliminate regulations protecting water and other utilities. The wealthy can afford Perrier water anyway.

It won't stop Google from creating a neutral ISP though.

I hope the smart ISPs will use this to attract new customers, hopefully the ones that plan to tier services will die a horrible death :)

You are still putting your faith in one company. Additionally, how will google service the entire country?

That's the funniest thing about it to me, or rather the most ironic thing. Especially considering that every major news outlet is considered "Liberal" to them.
