Kevin McHale was one of the winningest coaches or the most winning coach in franchise history though

He should have been rated average.

Byron Scott was good with the Nets when he had Kidd & Co, also good when he had CP3 in NOLA. Scott was bad when Cleveland didn't have lebron and also Kobe on his last legs.

All the coaches you mentioned had great/good players to win a lot of games.

Jackson - Jordan, Pippen, Kobe, Shaq
Adelman- Blazers with Drexler, Kings were very talented.
    Luke Walton- W's (Curry,Green, Klay)
    Brooks- Ibaka, Harden, Durant, WB
Stotts- Had LMA, now has Lillard & he is making most of it.

Hoiberg. Bad player, bad coach. Maybe he's a good father or something at least.

    It's more like this:

Good players "make" their coach look good while bad players make their coach look bad.

What makes you think Scott Brooks is a better coach than McHale?

Phil Jackson has to prove it to me he can coach by coaching the Knicks and Knuckle head Carmelo Anthony.

really don't think there's any correlation. seems very attenuated. what makes for good coaching is a solid grasp of the game, ability to inspire players, draw up Xs and Os, etc. So much more goes into coaching than just: "how good were you when yo played"

just playing devils advocate -- scrubs are in a much better position to watch the game in its entirety. Star players are so focused on their singular task on any given night, that they aren't watching everything in a vacuum. Sure, they may go watch film afterwards, but it seems like a scrub with no playing time can more afford to take everything in.

He won with Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Shaq, Kobe, many solid players. Any coach would of won with them.
Erik Spoelstra reminds me of Phil Jackson. Crappy coach who won titles with great players. Phil Jackson has to prove it with coaching the lowly New York Knicks. If he at least gets them to the East finals he has my respect

Doc Rivers is an overrated coach. Tons of talent in Boston when they won, tons of talent in LAC and hasn't accomplished anything.

Not a bad coach, not a great coach.

At the same time just because they're watching doesn't mean they're dissecting it. And also everyone has their own ideology that's neither right or wrong. You just have to find out what may work for ΓΌ specifically

Of course it's easy to say that now but no that's not true at all.
