There will always be players that want to talk and other players that aren't comfortable talking. It won't ever get to the situation where players just stop talking, resulting in the media going against the NFL, and then causing the NFL to go 6 feet under.

This Lynch nonsense has actually helped the NFL, if anything.

And when you say, without the media, the NFL is nothing...in actuality, without the players, the media is nothing. American culture, in general, revolves around the entertainment industry, whether it's movies, music, sports, etc... The media rely on musicians, actors, athletes, etc...in order to have jobs. If the NFL falls, so do the media involved with the NFL, not the other way around.

See that's where i disagree, the players don't really matter to the media. If there was no more football, they'd just shift to a different sport or topic. The media made the NFL what it is today, there's nothing intrinsically special about football, it just so happens to be the sport that Americans currently love more than others. The media made that happen. It easily could have been basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, or even cricket like in India.

Football is just one of many games, but the marketing has put it on top.

Why would he talk about a criminal that got himself killed by foolishly attacking a cop?

Serious question...do we really care what the players have to say? In today's social network world probably but ask yourself, is it that important? If they wanna talk, talk and if not oh well. Love Foster for this.

something to consider...Foster has used the media to give his brother's gym air time and now he's using it to launch his wife's fashion line...

Marketing is different than the media. Your acting like the joe and bob that interview these players are the ones that decided to make football what it is today. Those media guys have jobs in the NFL bc the NFL has done an incredible job marketing the sport.

He's one of those Royce White types who thinks he's a lot smarter than he is because he claims to be into philosophy and vegan ism. The guy makes very, very basic points when he talks, throws in a big word, and people think he's intelligent. Intelligent people are much more efficient with what they say. And here he's pandering to the liberal play it neutral crowd by saying, let's just chill out and let people be without analysing any of the actual circumstances around this issue :

    1. Being paid millions to be in the NFL
    2. Advertising personal brands for profit on NFL airtime
    3. Trying to "work around the system" even though it's what feeds you and gives you any airtime whatsoever.

It's a middle school response and only other people on that intelligence level would think it's a "smart" answer

Good comparison for arian is Sarah palin. Miss " I read all the magazines and watch all the shows, Russia in my backyard" but can't provide a lick of actual analysis or sentences that make sense to anyone but other palinites. It's called surrounding yourself with yes people to maintain a self proclaimed title.

This is why athletes shouldn't have to talk because fry cooks (fans) will find something to criticize them about when they open their mouth. Jealousy and envy is a color that looks good on no one but people dress up with those colors often when it comes to athletes.

And the NFL does not need the media. Fans just want to see athletes bow down because they do not hold athletes to higher standards like they do other entertainers like actors and singers. Fans like to look at athletes as one of them. That's why they're quick to say athletes get paid enough but have no problem with Tom Cruise getting paid $20 million for a bullshyt movie.

The media feels entitled even though the NFL does not need them at all to survive (you survive with advertising in this day and age). And fans feel entitled...

I don't watch football for interviews. If you pansies want to see people talk then go watch Desperate Housewives. I have no problem with what Lynch is doing and hope more players follow suit in solidarity.

Not sure what you're getting at here. Foster was just defending Lynch's position.

Nice try to completely make something up to get a heated debate or whatever going. But those generic talking points ended 2 decades ago. Hope you decide to start using your time to post sincere viewpoints instead of trolling message boards.

Arian is a genius. I like when he claimed he got 50K from UT then said he was only joking.

You only see it that way because you're one of the fanatics I'm referring to... Which is obvious. Athletes are simply entertainers but people like yourself hold them to higher standards than what you do other entertainers. You probably even depend on these athletes to be role models for your kids because you're too lazy to be your own kids role model... So it's completely understandable for my post to seem like a troll post to you.
