Great game McHugh, saving the bully.

We're still making too many outs on the bases. Details like that has costed us games this season.

The production 5-9 has been so much better. Our 1-3 is playing is playing well also. Springer's current BA, might be his career best. Altuve is now hitting .325. Correa is hitting the ball sharply and he's also being clutch. He's playing better defense too.

The starters are playing better and bully is ballin. We really need to make some hay over the next month with the subpar competition we're facing.

It's inevitable Gomez will play.... hopefully he does well.

Astros are on the right path.

So yes. I meant to say Gomez ISNT making 20 million.
I mean Jesus, Feldman is making 10 million or so? Our highest paid pitcher and we moved him to the pen.

Why does Gomez get chances still? What has he ever done as and Astro besides suck

Gomez has mostly sucked, but he did play above average last postseason.

Reality says, he will be given another chance (probably his last considering Luhnow's recent comments).

Best thing for the Astros and their fans is Gomez regains more of his '13-'14 form.

Gomez isn't being given anything because he deserves it. He's being given these chances because the club hopes he can regain form.

True he has for the most part sucked as an Astro, but he's been a good to great player for the last 4 seasons. Even last year he was coming on strong in his last month with the club, and had a solid postseason despite the injury.

He's been abysmal this year, we've all seen it, and so has Luhnow. But it isn't as if he's far removed from being good, so the team is gonna give him every reasonable chance to regain form. Having said that if he returns as poorly as he left, I imagine Luhnows hand will be forced before long to part ways.

Some of you need to wake the f up! "If only Gomez can get his bat going" while completely ignoring the fact that he has cost us games with his piss poor defense and boneheadedness baserunning. The thing that really pisses me off is that management will sit guys religously even after having a good game the day before but not Gomez, oh hell no we are going to force his sorry ass into CF every single night when we have a better a defensive option and then force his sorry ass into the 5th or sixth hole regardless! Listen I get hoping he can add something to the club but he hasn't done anything but cost this club games but if they insist on bringing him back then he should have a limited role until proving otherwise and his diva ass can play LF because he has no business in center.

Agree, Hinch takes players after a good game, i don't like that, and plays guys that are NOT doing the job. Why?

Examples this season of benching players after a good game?

Marisnick, Marwin Gonzalez, Tucker at the beginning of the year, White (at home after a very tough dry, he started to hit and was not playing after good games)

Instead, playing Gomez all the time even tough he was COSTING GAMES.

Pitching, Feliz was pitching good, and was not used. Now Davenski. Instead we saw Fields struggle, and Giles.

Last year, same happened with Singleton, Marisnick, Villar, ect.

Thats the good thing about Maddon, he will use the hot player until he cools down.

Prior to this week, when has Marisnick had a good game where he was benched the next day?

Tucker did not have ONE SINGLE GAME with more than 1 hit. When was he benched during a hot streak this season?

White played EVERY DAY from 04/05 - 04/22. Since then he had 2 multi-hit games where he did not play the next day (interestingly enough, the Astros won both of those games he did not play).

If members of this fan base truly believes in jinx's, hex's, and that one player "ruins" the mojo consistently... yeah, I wouldn't use actual real data to counter their arguments.

Clearly, all this team needs a shaman, fortune-teller, gypsie, witch, and needs to sacrifice a live chicken in the name of Jobu's rum... in order to guarantee a turnaround.

Catching up with the Astros' boards after the long weekend, and this is what we're talking about after a great W, and after we've been playing well as of late? I think the board might be more insufferable after W's, which is saying something.

Let's try and just enjoy some good baseball, and to stay on topic, let's hope we can get a short two game sweep this afternoon.

Hey, 6 of 7. Not shabby. Would love to see them roll off 5 in a row to be up around .500 by the start of next week.

Trying to get back on point, McHugh was great last night and he's looked awesome here recently. McCullers also looks like he's picking up where he left off last year. Fister has been really solid all year, although it certainly feels like his success is built on a house of cards. Fiers had a 3.34 ERA in his 6 games before getting knocked around in his last start.

Save for our Cy Young winner, the rotation has been pitching very well over the last month. It's looking like the great 2-5 we thought we had coming into the year. Unfortunately #1 has been bad, hopefully he can build on his last start.

It will be interesting to see how the Musgrove situation plays out. He's coming up, I have no doubt. Will they try to add him to what already looks to be deep pen, or will they just wait until a spot creates itself.

Yep. Made up 3 games in the span of just a week. 100 freakin games left in this long season... plenty more baseball to be played.

Pitching has been the biggest reason... you pitch consistently, you win consistently. Not too complicated.

My main goal for this team was to get to 23-30 by the end of May. Now, they can steal an extra game.

Next goal was to go 16-10 in June. You do that, and you're around .500 with a 10 game homestand right before the All-Star break. With how they can be here at home, they could clean up and be in good shape for the start of the 2nd half.
