One week from the draft, who do you think your Texans will be selecting in the 1st round? We've gone from Wentz to Elliot to Coleman. With the draft about a week away, who do you think the Texans will be selecting at 1-22?
I'd probably go with a DT or something on the OL in the first round. Depends on if there is a run on WRs. If they can hold off and get Sterling Shephard in the second round that would work for me
Just pointing out for everybody that the question is "Who will the Texans draft?" not "Who should the Texans draft?", nor is it "Who would you draft if you were the GM of the Texans?"
Not sexy, but Ryan Kelly could be the leader of our OL for next decade. I long for the days of Matthews and Munchak.
Take Coleman just because I think Vernon Butler might be there in Rd2 and if not Kaufisi from BYU or Nassib should be, so much talent on the Dline in the 1st 2 rds
1st. Copper WR ( Texans will draft Corey at #22 2nd. Henry TE 3rd. Nkemdiche 4th. Best Available OT 5th. Best Available SS 6th Best Available Player 7th. Best Available Player
Replacing Crick and Jones are higher priorities than WR to me. I picked Butler but I wouldn't be shocked if it was Kelly. I would like trade the pick for Muhammad Wilkerson but it would take a reasonable contract deal negotiated this week, so that would be tough.
Kelly is about the only one that would shock me. Kelly, or a cornerback, I guess. They haven't been really interested in interior linemen, so if that's what they're looking for they've been running a misdirection campaign since January. I would guess Noah Spence before Kelly. Off the wall picks - Germaine Ifedi or Le'Raven Clark The 2 best prototypical athletes at the tackle spot that will be available.
I don't remember them trying out a bunch of CBs last year, yet they drafted one in the 1st. I think they either are misdirecting or don't depend on personal tryouts for their draft analysis. I thought about adding Noah Spence but his off-field issues might keep the Texans from selecting him.
It's a copycat league, the Cowboys shocked people when they took Fredrick and then it worked pretty well (til the QB went down). It's an open position with one consensus top pick that could be had @22, start immediately and play for a decade. They may think the D line is good with Covington and Still.
I was going to mention this.. I think Covington played well for us, and no one has even mentioned Still, was he terrible before he left? I didnt really see him play but he could be good opposite Watt. Side note: Someone mentioned it earlier, I would also trade #22 for Wilkerson.
