Going to New Orleans with the gf for a few days this week and was just wondering some good places to stop by. Want to go out to eat at somewhere pretty nice one of the nights. I've been to New Orleans once before for a bachelor party. We went to Bourbon/Frenchman streets and Harrah's. Looking for any suggestions. Thanks!

If you have a car and can get around, I have to recommend visiting my friend's wing shop: www.bayouhotwings.com/

It's been voted as one of the best wing shops around town!

I was there a month ago for my soon to be brother in laws bachelor party. Unfortunately for some reason I can't remember 95% of the trip. I do remember eating a badass shrimp po boy from a bakery. That is about it.

    Yes do this for breakfast/brunch.

Commanders Palace and Cochon are two nice restaurants.

Avenue Pub is an excellent beer place.

Traditionally speaking? In NO there are more blacks, so you mean is it friendly towards whites? Or something else? In NO you just go places. You'll get drunk, eat good food, see t*** and get mugged no matter what you look like.

They don't like Dallas Cowboys fans, if that's what you're asking.

Not really sure. I heard there is a preponderance of white only establishments in New Orleans like Pinkberry and Cracker Barrel. Can any Anglos who have visited this city confirm?

The National WWII Museum is a must-visit, very good stuff to see there.

Cochon Butcher is down the street from the museum and had the best muffuletta I've ever eaten. Great spot for lunch.

If you can catch the Rebirth Brass Band, go see them. I saw them play Tipitina's at the intersection of Napoleon and Tchoupitoulas. Great live music crowds in New Orleans.

Cafe du Monde was fine, but we went around 7 am before driving back to Texas. It looked unruly during the day. It's exactly what you'd expect from a beignet and coffee shop.

I used to live there & will be visiting this weekend. I plan on going to Parkway for a po'boy & Domenica's happy hour for the best pizza ever. But you may not be looking for pizza.

For first-time tourists, I recommend Jaques-Imo's for dinner & Frenchman for nightlife. If you end up on Bourbon (which I typically don't recommend, but it's often inevitable), Pat O's piano bar is a lot of fun. Also Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop is the oldest bar in the USA!

Ahh thank you. Parkway is the name of that po'boy place I ate at. I couldn't remember the name but got damn, by far the best po'boy I have ever had.
